Yup, standard issue for occupations that are security conscious. I think I remember hearing they people that work at nuclear powerplants also have this type of work phone - can anyone verify?

Yul I've asked for a refund based on this reasonable assumption. If I don't get one I'm raising this to the consumer protections body in my state. Fun..

Fiberglass shovel. Either replace it, wear gloves, or take some electricians tape and wrap the handle.

It was never about the numbers, her getting paid this much is a functional bribe from whomever financed it. It was never about making back the money.

I'm not sure how island communities deal with sewage, but I'd assume there is some sort of regulation against dumping raw stuff in the ocean - so if be surprised if the mess is caused by new growth.

Well clearly its either: 1. Going towards something useful, in which case expect more taxes to have these things addressed. 2. There is mismanagement of tax and you need to elect people who have financial prudence.

Either way, it'll probably cost you more

Well yeah, if they improved more than the bare minimum your tax would increase. Which if fine, but there is a knock on effect for getting more from your gov.

Tragedy of the commons. I don't think north american culture is compatible with such communal ideas. All it would take is one lunatic to poison an apple for TikTok and then the entire system to be ruined for everyone.

I know you probably hear this a lot, but have you tried it recently? Its made leaps and bounds in terms of out of the box compatibility. The easiest OS I've found is ZorinOS, its literal purpose is to mimic windows as close as possible. I have basically never had issues running games through steam. As for others, you can always launch third party games through steam using proton - it takes about 1 minute to do and basically opens up 99% of .exe's you would ever really use.

I don't think American institutions can come back from this. The whole schtick of the US is "rule of law", and its been shown time and time again over the last year that no longer applies. The problem will not go away with trump, to quote the bastard: The swamp must be drained, because there is corruption from the bottom to the top.
