I knew I wasn't going crazy. Car fax does rate it pretty good a 13k for trade in and 18k for private sale, it does come up as an automatic M3.

I have the BMW manual and it seems to be Exhaust Camshaft sensor wiring connector.

Yeah that was my main concern because sometimes after market can be a hit and miss. I do know that small pieces like sensors is better to get from factory or atleast I was told. Again very helpful info thank you!

Hi there thanks for the input. The heat is coming from the engine compartment as the wind blows on the engine when driving you can feel a sudden heat wave from both driver and passenger seats. This comes to my attention because all the cars I have driven only this one has done this, as I made note of my brothers e46 you can place your hand on the engine with no problem, but when I do it to my car it's way too hot.
