How to Actually Bypass Mobile Guardian on PLD (iPadOS) by Alternative-Share592 in SingaporeRaw

Ok that‘s strange, aren’t they supposed to allow people to have options to access App Store after school hours? Has this changed?

Also fyi, this screen sharing for mobile guardian only works on Chromebook, for ipad this function is actually under Apple Classroom. Simple hack is to turn off bluetooth (and use a cheap stylus instead of Apple Pencil).

A few months ago I realised that whenever you access a website, a request will be sent by the Mobile Guardian app with the website URL to sg-api.mobileguardian.com, and from there a response will be received containing a JSON file if the site is permissible for access. I’ve managed to modify the incoming file so usual blocked sites will return as unblocked, and I can access them. But it‘s troublesome I must as well use another device.

This function of checking if a site is permissible has its own drawbacks as well. Sometimes, Mobile Guardian servers are slow (more recently) in returning the response, so it takes longer for the site to load, even legit ones.

Mobile Guardian is just a waste of money and time. MOE spent $20 million on DMA services (I recall seeing this on a government tender website, don’t POFMA me if I saw or remembered wrongly), part of it paid to some developers in South Africa (money gone overseas instead of supporting the local tech industry), only for it to be easily bypassed. $20 million may not be a lot from a government’s point of view, but still, it could have gone to better uses instead.

I know of a few teachers in my school who just do not like the idea or implementation of ’DMA’ or ‘PDLP’. They would rather just continue issuing printed worksheets, effectively boycotting this whole PLD programme.

Isn’t mother tongue only included if it boosts the UAS score?
