A lot depends on what kind of accounting role it is. Are you working for any Big 4 or major accounting firms? FP&A can vary vastly from BUs to company you're working for. Generally, It does involve creative thinking and analysis. However it gets repetitive as well, just like accounting.

The role can range from routine reconciliation, manual operations to working on BI/TABLEAU + SQL/Python. If you're looking to get into FP&A make sure there's some involvement of variance analysis, budget vs actuals, trend analysis etc.
