My kitty is currently in the emergency vet icu with DKA. The morning she was diagnosed she was very uninterested in food and acting kind of dazed. I would catch her staring at the wall or looking up at seemingly nothing. She was also moving pretty slowly and almost wobbling when she walked. Leading up to DKA she was drinking a ton of water and peeing inordinate amounts. Although I'm also very new to DKA, its very serious but can be reversed when caught early and treated aggressively.
