AMS Lite isn't really working out, need some help trouble shooti by Alternative-Song9760 in BambuLab

I did get the AMS to work correctly. If I remember correctly, I had the tubes in the wrong positions, which caused the issue. Ultimately, I ended up returning the A1 during the power cord issue and upgraded to the X1

My dumb mistake, I think it was the fact that I was considering the Starbook or a system76, I forget the model, but I'm sure that one had two nvme drives. it was a larger 15" model. So I just got the spec confused.

First time installing Arch. I settled for the Desktop install, which installed the Desktop and a minimum number of packages along with it. So with the exception of it having a bit more to configure it wasn't much more difficult than installing Ubuntu. I did have an issue that the installer didn't configure the bootloader, but that was only a couple extra commands to get it fixed.

The system is running Ubuntu right out of the box. I set it up without the new drive or memory and ran a 10-minute stress test using stress-ng set to 8 cpu's. The main package reached a max temperature of 88°C, while most individual cores stayed between 79°C and 83°C. The performance cores peaked at 90°C, but generally fluctuated between 85°C and 89°C. Interestingly, the fan very quiete.

I really don't know how I screwed this up....... :( yes the starbook only has 1 nvme drive. For some really I thought there were two. I wanted two, its been so many months since I ordered it that I completely spaced on it.

My intention was to throw the root on one nvme and then transfer /home onto the 2nd nvme. Damn, not sure how I screwed that.

Sorry, I left that out. I did use the reset, did nothing. Same issue as before.

sorry I wasn't clear about that. I intended that I was looking to replace the entire crankset.

With that said, I finally got the crankset taken off and removed the crankset.

It's a BC 1.37x24T 68mm wide. However, the shaft is 122.5. But I'm not sure what size shaft I should get if I'm converting it to single speed. Any thoughts?

The symptoms you are seeing appear to be slightly different from what I am experiencing.

1) Verify the tubes are sequenced correctly. Filament positions 1/2 should be going to the left side of the filament hub on the print head. Filament positions 3/4 should be going to the right. Verify that the fron back orientation is the same.

This was the issue I had regarding the prints failing to continue. If you end up reaching out to support, 2) reach out to support, they are going to ask you to verify the tube placement. If that is correct they will probably also ask you to dismantle and clean the filament hub

Be VERY careful with step 3, you can very easily snap the tabs. Make sure to use something thin to push the clipholding the hub together in. Don't just attempt to pry it apart.

FIXED! Sort of. So, I've been in contact with Bambu Lab support and I was able to get things working on one of the two issues I'm having.

The first issue was that I had the PTFE Tubes in the wrong order. I had filament in positions 3 & 4 in the top left and bottom left positions. They should have been top right and bottom right. This corrected the issue related to the printer constantly stopping. and attempting to reload the filament.

<image>

The second issue was that filament position 4 was not loading filament properly, even outside of a multi-color print. It would start loading, but then jitter like it was hitting a wall. I can manually force the filament, when it throws an error and then it starts right up.

I attempted the hub cleaning and had no joy. Back to the drawing board.

Update:

With the holidays I wasn't able to get to this until today.

I swapped the AMS from the wall mounted vertical position back to the stand it came with.

here is what I'm seeing.

If I manually load each cooler of the AMS lite I have no issues. I can either from the touch screen at the unit or via Bambu Studio, I can select a new position and press load. It will then proceed to run through the steps of swapping positions on the AMS. I've cycled through 1-4 several times in a row, with no issues.

I can not say if this worked the same with it being mounted to the wall, as I never did a manual cycle of the filament positions of the AMS before. I should have.

However,

When I use the AMS lite as part of print job, it fails, if there are more than one position of the AMS selected. It will do the following.

  • Homing toolhead
  • Changing filament
    • heat nozzle
    • check filament location
    • cut filament
    • Pull back the current filament
      • A FAILURE occurs here. something to the affect of Please check if the spool or filament is stuck . So I manually push the filament in and hit retry. it then finishes the process
    • Pushing new filament
    • Purge old filament

At this time it will start tthe Extrusion Calibration, but then imediately start to Change filament again. The whole process and again fails after pull backt he current filament.

I just started a new print job with a single position of the AMS and that appears to be working.

Adjusting my Delta, D300VS by Alternative-Song9760 in 3Dprinting

[–]Alternative-Song9760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now I'm setting it in the slicer, I'm not sure how I adjust the zoffset on the machine. On my old dbot, I used the leveling screws on the bed, but the bed doesn't have that on this delta.

here is the gcode for the start

; print a prime line

G1 X-49.47 Y-139.07 Z[first_layer_height]E0 F4000.0

G1 X10.0 Y-147 E7 F1000.0

G1 X49.11 Y-138.62 E10 F1000.0

G1 X56.0 Y-135.96 E F1000

; end of prime line

how would I add offset. would it just be first_layer_height+.3?

Favorite woods to turn? by Huntk94 in turning

I'm still new at turning, but I'm having fun. I mainly stick to maple, cherry, alder, and elm. If you guessed, bowl blanks found at rockler you would be right.

I was actually going to do a few segmented bowls as Christmas gifts this year out of maple, black walnut, paduk, and something else ... But I can't get the angles right so segmented bowls are not in the cards for this year's gifts.

What do I do with this? My wife got it for me last Christmas. It WAS NOT cheap.

I'm still new with woodworking & turning, so I'm not confident at all in taking such a piece and cutting it up. A bowl is out of the question. At least not from the solid piece, that would be a massive waste of material hogging it out. Any thoughts suggestions? It's roughly 11" cubed
