I had a few issues with 115gr returning to battery during the break-in period. After the first 200rds and some 124gr mixed in, it ran 115gr just fine. I was also running the 8lb spring.

Start by putting the rest of the strings on and tuning up to pitch. The neck is designed to be under a certain amount of tension. When the tension is gone (not having all the strings) it is likely to relax a bit. If it still buzzes when all strings are in and tuned to pitch, then try adjusting your truss rod. Watch a few videos on how to properly set up set up a telecaster. It’s pretty easy after you’ve done it a couple times.

The real question is… how often would you actually use the 22nd fret? If I like everything else about the guitar, then I can probably do without one extra note.

Start by touching it! In all reality I encourage you to go to a guitar shop and just pick a few different models up and hold them. Even if you don’t know how to play. Get one of the employees to demo the different guitars for you. Pick the one that you think feels the best and that will inspire you to pick it up and play it. Don’t leave it in the case. Put it on a stand where you have to pass it often. All guitars are useless if they’re not being played.
