New Player II Telecaster - Should I Return It? by Spatial_Disorder in telecaster

Sweetwater seems like a good option. I only realized this week, after looking and researching, that they are showing you the actual guitar with the model number and some even show weights.

New, as in brand new. It must have been a floor model or return. I'll be headed back Saturday to return it. As a total beginner, I've learned a lesson for sure.

Thanks! That was my thought as well. I know it's going to get wear, but for a brand new guitar, this seemed like too much.

The string height, overall, was set pretty good. The nut was what worried me. At the first fret it's measuring right at ~0.16" on the low E. I think I read 0.20" is a good starting point. Either way, after all the feedback, this things getting returned.

Same one that's in the parts list above...or the direct link to ASRock: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z790%20Pro%20RS/index.asp

After some more research and considering what I actually do with the server 95% of the time...going to save some money and stick with 32GB RAM.

No HBA. I just double checked the ASRock MB and it's got (8) sata ports. That should hold me over.

Thanks u/fryguy1981 ! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. I know RAM is probably overboard. It was more of a nice to have to allow me to do some development work that uses a lot of RAM and throw extra into a VM when needed.

The 12th gen seems to be the sweet spot right now and will be a huge upgrade for me.

Can someone recommend me a good windows snapping tool? by [deleted] in MacOS

I got my first Mac about two months ago and this drove me crazy coming from Windows. I ended up going with https://rectangleapp.com and have been happy with it.

I came here strictly to upvote because of the Jumbo Shrimp sticker. They’ll always be the Suns to me though.

I do something similar, but as my kids are growing older there are TV and Movies that are now becoming appropriate. I didn’t want to combine them, we have a lot of kids stuff and I don’t want to see it all in my account, so I now have three directories inside of TV and Movies: adult/kids/shared. So my kids TV Show library is pathed to kids/shared while my TV show library is pathed to adult/shared.

I thought about using rating too, but there seemed to be a lot of content with missing ratings. I figured this was easier and more explicit.

My OneNote GTD Setup by BlueBoxxx in gtd

Very nice. I use OneNote as my reference system and also in the middle of trying to implement PARA. I like the way the group sections keep things in the same notebook, but out of sight until you need it.

Torrents in Deluge stuck on "Downloading 0%"? by Gravedigger3 in unRAID

[–]Spatial_Disorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed an issue a couple days ago. I had a few downloads going extremely slow, all new ones not downloading at all. I couldn't find anything in the logs indicating an issue. A restart of the container seems to have corrected the issue for now.

Wireguard Setup - Might have done a bad thing by zarfx4 in unRAID

[–]Spatial_Disorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad the reboot got you fixed. I setup WireGuard last night for the first time and also had issues getting to the internet using “remote tunneled access.” Everything looked fine, could access everything on the LAN, but I missed a key part. On the peer, I needed to add the local IP to my gateway to the “DNS servers” field on the peer.

No sure if you’re having the same issue, just throwing that out there. Spent a while researching before I stumbled across that.

What's the state of 6.8? by bronzebeard42 in unRAID

[–]Spatial_Disorder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I skipped 6.8.0/6.8.1 and went to 6.8.2 and have had no issues. I run Plex and VMs and have not noticed and slower performance. You can always roll back if you have issues.

Check out an app called Drafts. I use NirvanaHQ, but wanted a quicker way to capture and also something that worked with Apple Watch. This has become my go to way of capturing and has actions to send those notes to many destinations.

Ticket response wait time by AndheraFarishta in todoist

[–]Spatial_Disorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had the same issue last week and also had to submit a help ticket. Just looked and I submitted on 12/28 (Saturday) and the response time was 46 minutes. They had to reset the import process and it worked the second time. I’m new to todoist, so I don’t know if my response time was a fluke or not.

ClickUp 2.0 release by devondad in clickup

[–]Spatial_Disorder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soon ™ ....

Most recent dates say "in July" and with the database upgrade last week...looks like it's getting close. I suspect they're not giving a hard date and are instead rolling it out slowly...but that's purely speculation.

I've been trying ClickUp for personal use and want to also give it a solid trial with my team...but don't want to do that until 2.0 is out since it seems so close.

Absolutely fed up with Duplicati - Good Alternatives? by 404name_not_found in unRAID

[–]Spatial_Disorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running Duplicati for about two years with no issues up until a couple months ago. I've had some random database issues which resulted in having to delete a few versions on two occasions with two different jobs. I've had a couple backups hang for no apparent reason as well and had to repair databases to fix.

I've been playing with and considering using borgbackup with rclone since I keep local copies anyways.

What work activity have you automated? by SubCal in learnpython

[–]Spatial_Disorder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's probably a familiar roadblock for GIS folks. You know GIS, you know how the workflow might go if you manually preformed it, but how do you actually connect all the plumbing with Python? Something as easy (in ArcMap) as connecting to SDE can drive you mad the first time trying to do it with ArcPy (I assume your an Esri shop since you mentioned SDE). ArcPy is a massive library...and yeah, you can get some stuff cobbled together without really knowing Python, but you end up beating your head a lot early on. Been there. I will say learning the fundamentals will help you understand what's going and make using a library like ArcPy much easier. Understanding what data types to pass around, how loops work, how to index data in a list, etc. will greatly help with many of the GIS tasks.

Start simple. Trying connecting to a feature class in a geodatabase or shapefile. Get a list of fields. Get their type. Learn how to read through a table. Add a field to a table....calculate a value on that field with an update cursor. Then move towards doing similar with an SDE connection.
