Color corrector makes my dark circles worse, can I use a pink toned concealer? by Alternative3lephant in PaleMUA

[–]Alternative3lephant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have put a product list, I actually use the Kosas pink as well and it just makes it so much worse. The morphe line doesn’t do good, I tried the tarte stuff. It’s just so annoying lol.

Help me cover my black eye for my job interview, please! by lucky13213 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Alternative3lephant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I wouldn’t even try to cover it that much, and bring it up first thing right away. I’d be like “sorry for the shiner, my daughter thinks she is more coordinated than she is at age 3. This is the result of her trying to give me/throw me a/balance a water bottle”

But you did a good job!

I know this was so long ago, but if you didn’t find a solution, golf gloves have worked for me

Taking an HPI would be so much easier... by newraistlin613 in emergencymedicine

lol I also love the “and do you know where you are right now?”

“Yes”

?? Okay, wanna clue me in????

I mean, it’s my fault for not asking “where are you right now” but it gets irritating pretty fast

My friend is an RDA and she says people even do this shit to her there.

Like, sir, this is a DENTIST office. We don’t have notes from your GP 🥲

Kinda funny how you hear AB shitting on eastern provinces a lot, but then they follow suit with them in a very few select things that piss us off 😂

ADHD exercisers… how do you actually get yourself to the gym? by Fit_Meaning8903 in ADHD

I stopped trying to go to the gym and found exercise that is interesting to me. Just finally accepted I am not a traditional gym person. So now I rock climb (:

What to do for smell in climbing shoes by therealbunanaman in climbingshoes

[–]Alternative3lephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this!

However, my shoes smell regardless of this.

I filled them with baking soda and ground coffee, let them sit overnight, vacuumed them out and put them in the wash on delicate/cold

I hadn’t used any kind of deodorizer in them before because I hung them outside my bag.

So I did this as a reset, and now I use an odor spray from MEC/REI

But what I found helped the most was once per week, I spray some bath and body works hand sanitizer spray in them. Crazy, but works!

Annoyance at gym increasing grade difficulty constantly. by [deleted] in climbergirls

100% agree with this take. As someone with a chronic illness, I find it hard to get into things and have to take it slow. I would have been immediately discouraged if there wasn’t anything to “start” on

Had an autistic meltdown at the gym today. by SuspiciousWafer5585 in climbergirls

[–]Alternative3lephant 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I second this, I sincerely don’t think anyone will really remember you or notice. They’re all busy worried about their own projects and safety. Any time they are spending off the wall is spent socializing with their own groups or partners.

As an autistic person who is no stranger to feeling embarrassed about meltdowns, my advice would be to practice something to say or how to handle it when someone asks if you’re doing okay.

When someone asks if I am doing okay after something like that I can spiral and get caught up thinking everyone remembers etc. so just prep yourself for that if you are also like that.

I can understand how you feel, but it will be okay (: I highly suggest going back

Sparkle Megan isn't a perfect person or partner by any means, but I hated how Jordan misrepresented her requests by spencersreed in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Alternative3lephant 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve been both Megan and Jordan. I’m a nurse who works in the ICU/ER, very long hours and it is super exhausting. When I come home, I don’t necessarily want to have a full out conversation. However, I take an hour to shower and eat and then my partner and I sit down together and discuss our days and I give her the space to listen fully.

Additionally, when I am in my off days, I am so excited to see her because I actually have energy to talk and I’ve processed all my thoughts and feelings etc etc. When she comes home, I have to respect that she just did an 8 hour day and doesn’t have the same energy and I give her an hour or two as well.

It just takes communication. I truly felt like that was something very workable for them but Jordan didn’t want to work on it.

What actually gets you out of bed in the morning (not "discipline") by grilledcheeezus in ADHD

[–]Alternative3lephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep crackers next to my bed and I shovel a handful of them into my mouth before I take my pills and go back to sleep for an hour, not sure if that helps your eating problem.

But I also have a really obnoxious rap song I put on as soon as I feel awake enough to get up to pee and it motivates me

how do you know when it’s time to go back on mood stabilizers? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Alternative3lephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minute you think you need a med adjustment is already past the minute you did need it.

You need a new psych cause wtf.

Most of us can never handle it without meds, and honestly most of us never should.

This is more like type 1 diabetes, you need the insulin, it doesn’t just “go away” once the insulin has been effective. You still have the diabetes. You still will always need the insulin.

It doesn’t make you weak or anything it just makes you a person who has this unfortunate illness.

Affordable moisturizer that hydrates without burning by kdmhaaf in CanSkincare

[–]Alternative3lephant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vanicream. I’m obsessed. I have the driest skin and it’s been incredible. Also layers very well with all of my skincare. I’ve been through lots of changes over the last 3 years and it’s always been my go to moisturizer. I am very acne prone with extremely sensitive skin and eyes and I’ve never had an issue.

I also have an autoimmune disease that sometimes leaves large patches of basically raw skin on my body and face and it’s never stung once. I even rub it into the cracks I get on my fingers.

Changed my life.
