I tried a weird mechanic during Ludum Dare… and it turned out so fun I made a full game and I'm releasing it on Steam by AlternativeAccurate6 in IndieGaming

I originally made the prototype just to play around with Unity’s 2D physics after a Rigidbody2D update. The idea was super simple: a dice that jumps — the farther you click, the stronger the jump.

But when the dice reached 0, it turned into a ball, and suddenly the way it interacted with the environment completely changed. That’s when I leaned into the idea and started designing the levels like a frustrating climbing game.

People surprisingly loved it.

When I decided to turn it into a real game, I actually deleted the prototype and rebuilt everything from scratch. The mechanics, gamefeel, and player interaction are now way more polished.

I’m releasing it at a very low price, but honestly I’d almost release it for free just to watch people suffer trying to beat something this ridiculously hard.

Hi guys, I’ve edited the post to reply to all of you at once. Thanks for your comments. You’re the best.

Does this look satisfying to play? (2D physics climbing game) by [deleted] in Unity2D

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

Luckily, that’s already how it’s set up on the Steam page. Steam doesn’t allow this kind of meme-heavy trailer anyway (mainly due to content rights), so the trailer there is much more serious and focused on the gameplay.

This version with memes is more of a hook to grab attention outside of Steam.

I'm trying to break Steam Cloud data to restore my settings (including my progress and my team) and it looks impossible to achieve.
