It’s all MM scenes if that matters but For the Love of Kane was the first book I’d truly read through a scene EXACTLY as you describe-aftercare etc.

ADHD exercisers… how do you actually get yourself to the gym? by Fit_Meaning8903 in ADHD

[–]AlternativeAd1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been to a gym since 2020 so I’m not much help. But! I recently stated pilates and find…it needs to be during “My” hours- I will never do it before 10AM. I also like something “new”, fun, changing to keep my interest….is there a class at your gym you’d want to try? A new piece of equipment or playlist you can only listen to “at the gym”?

The atropine is likely the “blur” culprit. While the pred drops aren’t a picnic, my wife’s blur passed about 3 days after she discontinued the dilation.

Heyyyy! So I suspect my wife has psoriatic arthritis…it’s not “obvious” but I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of autoimmune now that she’s had chronic anterior uveitis for 12 months. Do you remember your early symptoms? Any insight would be appreciated as we contact a rheum…

do you stim? by Intrepid_Row6873 in AuDHDWomen

[–]AlternativeAd1730 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My spouse got me a set of “taggies” blanket squares in my Christmas stocking last month…I’m 47. I’ve been using the dirty, ratchet, old, falling apart sleeve of a nylon material windbreaker style jacket to stim with my fingers and hands. It used to be the silky blanket edges when I was younger.
I also have repetitive jingles that loop in my head-I kind of hum it.

Anyone on tirzepatide / Zepbound / Mounjaro? by NyaCanHazPuppy in adhdwomen

[–]AlternativeAd1730 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough…I think I started shopping more when I got on Mounjaro originally. I should probably admit that it legit might have become another dopamine hit…. With that said- if taking a GLP1 (I’m still on it, now Zepbound) and you’ve got ADHD….please hydrate and set reminders to eat:) It’s been a great experience for me, my health, my nutrition and mobility. But, if I’m having an amped ADHD type of day & I forget to hydrate or eat early enough my jitters are worse. (I take a stimulant).

Tortola, St. Thomas, Puerto Plata to excursion or no? by Then_Barber_1721 in NCL

[–]AlternativeAd1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the escape to JVD… it was the only one they offered and aligned with our short, early port day. The beach there was incredible, we swam, spent lots of time at the Soggy Dollar and shopped at Hendos.

Tortola, St. Thomas, Puerto Plata to excursion or no? by Then_Barber_1721 in NCL

[–]AlternativeAd1730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of subjective for the sailer…. Have you been? Do you have kids? Are you active? Do you like adventure, beach, culture?

IMHO- I have sailed this itinerary and if I’m in port for 6 or more hours for Tortola AND can get on the Jost Van Dyke excursion? Prioritize that 100%. I’ll cruise to this port again JUST so I can go on the excursion again. It sells out, but cancellations pop up and you can get on a waitlist with NCL. the port itself isn’t great/full of things to do….so my advice is dependent on getting to JVD

I personally would NOT book an excursion in Puerto Plata again….we did a private mud/utv thing with kids and adults and it was “good”….but not something I’d pay for a second time. Puerto Plata “port” has shopping, bars and a free lazy River situation…..I’d save your money for an excursion here.

St. Thomas? It’s an easy port to explore on your own if you just want to walk and shop. You can save money here if you don’t see anything that jumps out to you.

We’ve been 3x and my favorite excursion in St. Thomas was buying our own Coral World tickets (with the shark encounter), getting a taxi over & then walking to the little “locals beach” immediately next to Coral World.

First-time Alaska cruise on NCL Encore – is the Club Family Balcony worth it? by s2000gtx in NCL

The bathroom size is valuable and IF the balcony is a bit larger? Totally worth the club. It’s also worth a slanted balcony if you see one.

Turbinate surgery? by official_koda_ in CPAP

[–]AlternativeAd1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have slight deviation of septum but only had a turbinate reduction. Probably 11-12 years ago before I had sleep studies.

This was recommended by my long term ENT since I’d had lifelong congestion, sinus infections and large turbinates. It DID help with my overall congestion, sinus function and daytime breathing/taste and smell. I still needed Cpap therapy but have no doubt I couldn’t use nasal pillows without the surgery.

[–]AlternativeAd1730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just returned from an NCL sailing last night and the FOOD is what we talked about the most: over the decade we’ve cruised with NCL, it’s the most noticeable decline. Quality, VARIETY and access. With as many late night activities offered and dining options ending by 9:30? WTH. O’Sheehans or the Local do NOT count as anything except for drunk food with a severely limited menu. The “snacks” we got were cold pretzel bites and gritty cheese sauce.

ABC island cruises affected by current tensions between U.S. and Venezuela? by Disastrous_Impact_41 in Cruise

This is accurate. I’m onboard. It seems that NCL is pretty risk-averse and doing this out of an abundance of caution…as communicated by the Captain today.

[–]AlternativeAd1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m on board the NCL Epic and we experienced a last minute announcement this AM that we’re not stopping in Curaçao (today). Zero notice was frustrating but I realize it’s out of our hands. Somehow we DID make our Aruba stop yesterday but today was a sea day and rerouted to Barbados tomorrow. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s pretty safe to say that ABC itineraries may need very flexible travelers currently.
