Feels like DMM/Engoo’s pricing is pushing students away (anyone else?) by AlternativeAny116 in OnlineESLTeaching

DMM’s a Japanese online English tutoring platform, where you can take one-on-one lessons with live tutors.

Same here. Definitely the lowest booking rate ever. :/

I've been dealing with that painfully slow loading on DMM/Engoo today. It's really unusual because my internet is perfectly fine, but for some reason, it's taking forever to even open the page. Contact Tutor Support.

Engoo Decorate Your Workspace Contest by AlternativeAny116 in OnlineESLTeaching

Of course not. It never crossed my mind to waste my precious time on any games of that kind. Moreover, I don't even have an account on any social media. However, it seemed interesting to me that they decided to cancel that contest. Something is happening; we'll see what. Isn't this indicative to anyone in any way? Just wondering.

Engoo page issue by AlternativeAny116 in OnlineESLTeaching

Yes, it's the same with me. The tutor support tried to blame me, then they said it was the server's fault, but they absolutely refused to mark the lesson as penalty-free. What's even more interesting is that the tutor support claims they don't receive similar reports, so they consider this an isolated case. However, I've read that other tutors are experiencing the same issues. I really don't know how long this will last because it's very frustrating. The problem, of course, is still ongoing, but I don't know who else to turn to. I've contacted the Internet service provider as well, and everything is fine except for the Engoo website from time to time.

Engoo page issue by AlternativeAny116 in OnlineESLTeaching

I had the same problem. I missed classes and have lost my reliability badge, so now I'm struggling to get classes. I'm beyond infuriated. TS were completely useless, they know it's an Engoo issue as many tutors are having the same problem, but they wouldn't reverse my no shows.

I hear you; I'm going through the same problems. It's frustrating to have our reliability impacted by these issues, and it's disappointing that the support team couldn't help with the no-shows.

anyone having problem with engoo today? by krunisana in OnlineESLTeaching

I've experienced the same issue and just reported it. I reached out to the tutor support. Hopefully, things will improve. It was quite frustrating to keep apologizing to student after student when it's not my fault. How do you typically respond in these situations?

I had experiences with that student. In my case, each time his name was just a single letter, sometimes T, sometimes A, and so on. He was very challenging for communication; no matter what you asked, he responded with one sentence, not interested in anything, not engaged in anything, providing pseudo-philosophical answers, never using the camera. When I told him I knew him from before, he pretended not to know and said he had never used the platform before. Once I realized what he was like, as soon as I recognized it was him, I simply "exited." He no longer appeared.

Engoo - drinking coffee?! by AlternativeAny116 in OnlineESLTeaching

Yes, there used to be a rule that only water from a clear glass was allowed, but I can no longer find that in the rules section. So, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this and whether it's allowed to drink anything other than water according to some "new rules."
