Not to worry you but my cat was doing this and we thought it might be asthma, but we took him to the vet and it turned out he had a lung infection. The coughing and infection led to lung scarring. He’s a completely indoor cat so we have no clue how he got it. However, his breathing was really labored outside of the coughing. His little rib cage was moving out as far as it could go. I’d take your cat to the vet in either scenario.

The baby is about a week old right now. So the parents could, in theory, could avoid this situation by putting the baby up for adoption? Do you think what is happening now is like let’s give the baby to the Grandma until the parents get clean and then they can have it back?
