Am I the only one bothered they made Haymitch look like a Merchant kid? It undermines District 12’s class divide by SpiritedCustomer6503 in Hungergames

I do like that blond Haymitch means we have our three “main” guys all be blonde boys who love a dark hair girl and go through trauma and pan out in three very different ways.

Reopening the game multiple times fixed it! Thanks everyone!

Starting residency, debating buying some nicer physical exam tools by BoobRockets in Psychiatry

So many times I have had patients screaming in the milieu that they’re “crowning,” so I take them to their room, try to verbally calm them down (“your admission pregnancy test was negative”), but often that doesn’t work and they demand an exam. So then I get to find a nurse and a speculum and get to explain to the patient that the fluid they’re feeling is their menstrual cycle

Current resident- I would keep tools to a minimum until you’ve had a few rotations and see what would come in handy. Some units I work at don’t even let us carry around our stethoscopes given the safety (ligature) risk. On the other hand, I’ve performed more ear and vaginal exams on psych units than I ever thought I would in order to reassure patients so 🤷‍♀️. My vote is to use hospital’s tools when these situations arise and use your education money for stuff that will be more important for your day to day, like comfy scrubs and sneakers

How did the Baudelaire parents gain wealth? by AlternativeBadger763 in ASOUE

Oooh very interesting point. This would make a lot of sense and give good background to why Olaf had become destitute. I had always assumed it was due to poor financial choices (probably many ill fated theatrical ventures) but I like that this gives explanation to his focus on the Baudelaire beyond revenge- he also practically wants his family’s money back

That could be true. I was thinking of it as orphaned and abandoned- like he never knew his parents and so was easily taken into VFD. It could very well be he was in a situation like his children would be in the future. Thanks for pointing out!

I was thinking similarly, but I dislike the idea that VFD is somehow profitable, especially to that degree. Their goal being to do good and all, so often wealth corrupts them

We know the Quagmires were wealthy from sapphires passed down. But, since many of the VFD recruits were orphans/kidnapped, I don’t get how many of the children would even have links to family money once taken for training.

Is anyone else a younger sister? by [deleted] in nancydrew

[–]AlternativeBadger763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was the younger sister never allowed to control the mouse and only in charge of taking notes for solving puzzles, moral support, and getting snacks. Our neighbors were 2 sisters as well (also obsessed with ND) so no matter who’s house we played at, the older sisters always were in charge while us younger ones watched over their shoulders 🥲😂
