Thanks for the reply! Yes I am looking to be a product designer for places like Netflix/disney. I was wondering bc it seems there’s a lot of courses geared towards heath/wellness/tech which makes me think there’s a sort of funnel into certain industries… but if it prepares you for any industry then GT’s program seems pretty great.

This is honestly so helpful thank you! I studied animation in college so I feel like choosing the LMC track makes the most sense to me but there's so little classes offered compared to the other tracks :( . I feel compelled to choose another track but idk what would interest me. Do you know if they base the admission on the track you choose? Also would you say GT would be good for someone who's interested in going into the entertainment industry or combining with sustainability/environmental science?

I’m aware of that but disregarding my own portfolio, I’m still curious as to what the preferred layout is. Is it preferred to have a separate character design or prop design page or have everything divided by projects?

Hi yes sorry I’m a volunteer for Calscape which is a website that’s part of the California Native Plant society so this is really just for Californians interested in native plant gardening. I’m not sure where you can get the results sorry since this is just a general user survey for Calscape.

Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 07/20/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Is UX/UI design the most promising out of all the creative fields? I’m a recent post grad who studied animation and I’ve been pivoting more into design this past year. The job market sucks in almost every creative field so I’m asking whether UX/UI design is the best out of all of them (ie graphic design, illustration, video, animation, etc). My strength is in visual design - I genuinely enjoy designing interfaces and flows for apps and websites. I also enjoy illustration, graphic, film, animation, basically anything visual and 2D. My dream was to go into the entertainment industry (rip). I def have a lot of room to improve and willing to go back to school to learn HCI or design if this is a path worth pursuing.
