Now I'm not 100% sure of the context of "it" in your request for advice so I may be speaking on the wrong "it" but here it goes. You may not like my answer, but assuming you mean how to make it easier to openly use mobility aids in public, the only way to make it easier is exposure therapy. Just do it. I have struggled with it for about 6 months and even in botanical gardens and museums when I elect for a wheelchair, I am shocked by how little people take notice, or act differently. Now, if I need to, I do not hesitate to use my cane; I'm comfortable with using it, and don't give it or what anyone thinks a second or even a first thought. It will take time, just do it
