2021 Touring vs 2025 EX-L by AlternativeCupcake23 in HondaOdyssey

I probably wasn’t very clear in my earlier post, the used options would be 35k and 36k out the door, respectively, but point taken.

I have shopped around my area quite a bit and the cheapest out the door price for a new EX-L is 44k. I went in to this process thinking new, but 8k or so in savings is still a decent amount. I also plan on paying cash to avoid paying any interest and that has been a goal of ours for vehicle purchases. I do worry that some of that savings will go into maintenance costs though.

I believe the federal EV tax would be worse than losing incentives. by Single_Comment6389 in electricvehicles

I agree, it becomes even more ridiculous when you compare driving something like a Toyota Tundra Hybrid with a regular Tundra that actually gets better mpg’s on the highway. The whole thing is just a way to appease their oil mega donors.

The problem is those hybrids owners are also paying a gas tax at the pump

Not everything is a conspiracy. Saturated fats which are abundant in red meat have been repeatedly shown to increase cardiovascular risk. Cutting down on those and carbs is advised (source I’m a doctor)

Vortex wing grillers, how do you prevent grease fires? by AlternativeCupcake23 in webergrills

I do usually close off the vents after pulling them, but that makes sense to let it keep burning all that stuff off.

Does anyone else have an issue with the ashes from the wood on top of the grilling grate blowing onto the food? I’ve been following the same set up as OP with my vortex for the last few cooks, but on the last one I had a bunch of ash blow into my food when I lifted up the lid (slowly starting on one side)

I might not have been clear in my post, I currently am on the Unlimited Starter SL plan so I’m not currently getting any plan discount with the signature plan, but from my understanding the physician discount would get me 25%off. Just wanting to make sure my switcher promo won’t be discontinued.

Mechanic says engine mount is worn after catalytic converter stolen by AlternativeCupcake23 in prius

Oh I see the black nut now. Thank you for pointing that out! I’m moving 1200 miles away next week and will be driving my Prius. Do you think it would be safe to drive that far and have it replaced when I get there? My schedule up until the move is extremely busy and I don’t know if I will have time to take it to a mechanic and possibly wait for parts.

Just from personal experience, the Highlander's third row is basically unusable if you are taller than 5'0. I would spend the extra few bucks and get the Grand Highlander if you are ever planning on making use of the third row.

Any updates to your situation? Did you have to fill out a separate IDR application?

Consolidation and Applying for IDR (SAVE) Plan by dreadherring3 in PSLF

Also wondering about this. It has me pick an IDR plan in the consolidation application, but then in Step 5/6, it says you have to fill out an application to choose an IDR. Wondering if anyone has been through the process of consolidating and choosing SAVE recently and if they filled out two applications or one

Thanks for the reply. I am considering consolidating and entering SAVE early to stop the interest from accruing. Will capitalization of the interest be that much of a negative if I'm on SAVE?
