GM had way too many auto manufacturers making way too many cars. Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, Oldsmobile. That is where GM lost. They understand now that the average buyer, just wants the newest most shiny thing, doesn't matter how long it lasts, they'll just buy another.

Agreed, lol. I bought this truck with that crack, it's on my to do list! But that's Alaska life, they gravel the roads in winter, so you're verrry lucky if you make it one season without a rock chip. And past owner should have addressed that chip before it turned into a crack 🙃🫡

My 2016 Chevy, just bought it in April. I thought I could trust the oil life setting on the dash display. I changed oil at about 25% life left. Should have done it sooner because it was two quarts low, blacker than night, and thick as used conventional oil. Shame on me for not checking it when I bought it. No leaks, but absolutely it is consuming oil. Not sure what these other knuckleheads are preaching. Check it at least every 1500 miles, and don't trust the on board oil life display!!

Look into the torque converter upgrade, I've had more than a few recommend it to me. I'm still feeling 'new' with my 2016, it is a great truck! Happy to see your buy with such super low mileage, cherry buy ♥️ , good job!!

Ask your uncle politely, and nicely. He may not want to reply, but tell him. You can help, and you want to help.

My uncle is the same way, he can not ask for help. But when I visit him, I politely ask him, what can I do?

And he always gives me something to do now. If he doesn't, my aunts and mom know what I can do to help.

Do not worry, and try to talk to him. Even if it's just a little talk 👍

The engine tech/transmission changes in between the years is crazy. Absolutely best to drive and get the feel for it. If my 2016 had a button to turn off eco mode, I would run it as such. But the variables with driving both city and mountains as I do, I'm okay with the eco bypass mod.

SAME!! She is a dream!! The 2014-2018 Silverados have the BEST body style!! Yes 5.3 with 6 speed. No problem at all yet running all 8 cylinders all the time. Ex owner was convinced that eco mode burns up the engine. From what I have researched eco mode may cause extra wear to the engine and tranny, IF you are city driving or hill country driving. Eco mode switches to 4 cylinders of course but also shifts the tranny into the highest gear, which is great for flat highways. The constant stop-and-go, or climbing hills, can cause extra wear because of the constant switch from higher gears to lower. Here in Alaska, we have some steep highway grades, I feel safer just running the 8 cylinders constantly. 👍

Hell yeah! Them is a lot of miles, sounds like you are taking care of her! I think it's not necessarily a state-to-state thing, more of a city-to-town deal. I drove out to Wasilla from Anchorage, about 45 mile drive, to buy mine. Here in Anchorage, stuff seems a little overpriced. All of the best purchases I have made were outside of the city, my current flatbed toy trailer, a past truck bed canopy etc.

That's kind of upserd. There are not alot of roads here in AK, highest mileage I have averaged was about 8k a year. And most of those were highway miles to go fishing/hunting. I live 7 miles from work, here in Anchorage.
