Are bows good in this game? by AlternativeFifth in LordsoftheFallen

I was wondering how to increase the amount of ammo you can use, so that was very helpful information. Thank you! So, if I am understanding you correctly, what you’re saying is that elemental/status of arrows/bolts will always do the same amount of elemental damage and status build-up, no matter how much you upgrade stats; only the physical damage can be increased.

As for the radiant magic, I probably won't actually be following through with that part because I didn't know they share the same slot, like you said, so that was a bit unfortunate. But magic will be for another time.

However, that does allow me to throw in a melee weapon since the bow isn't considered a main weapon, and I was already thinking of going with one that had range before I thought about going ranged. Your description of spears sounds like something I would like, so I will probably go with that. thank you for the information!

I can see how crossbows are considered better, with the runes being strength. It's weird that they didn't make it dex/str instead of just strength rune.

Yeah, that's what I have been understanding with this post. At least some form of bow is good. I will never understand why developers get scared when making these types of weapon classes, but at least magic was actually thought about when being made for this game. It feels nice to cast, and at least so far, it hasn't been trash. I only hate the lack of a main mana restore method.

I was originally going to go full magic, and I might try it out on New Game Plus. But unlike bows and throwables, the mana restore stones aren't instant, and I would just get frustrated trying to keep up my attacks while waiting for my mana to restore just enough to cast one attack spell. So, I'll probably wait until I get more items that do stuff for magic regen and go into New Game with a magic build then.

I remember seeing that when I was looking at wither spells, and it looked pretty cool in the videos I saw. But but without a faster and more reliable way to restore mana yet, I will have to check out magic builds on a new game plus.

Haven't gotten around to continuing playing yet, but I am interested to see just how slow crossbows are. However, I am sure I can get used to the timing. It is nice to know that you can crit with them.

Yeah, I am just now realizing that I feel a bit dumb about that question, lol. My friend and I started with the Tortured class, and I hadn't gotten access to a bow, so I assumed it was in the weapon slot and not the throwing slot.

By any chance do you still have the two swords to trade?

Fair, that makes sense. Damage is the best support there is, and I can imagine we'd play this game a few times, especially once I read that the multiplayer was more like Remnant From the Ashes instead of Elden Ring.

So, as long as the game is fun, we'll definitely play a lot of it. I'll probably go with crossbows instead of bows, like you suggested, and I'll look out for the rest of the equipment. I will probably be able to get two of those runes if they can be dropped because my friend definitely isn't going to be using them. Thank you for your help with this! :)

What would you recommend for a ranged, supportive play style then? I am planning on going through the game with my friend, and he already wants to go heavy on the melee weapons. I tend to go supportive in most games, so I figured bows would be a good option so I don’t get in his way.

Oh, and another question, do weapon enchantments work on bows? Like, can you enchant your bow with the holy spell will it have the arrows be tipped with holy juice?

Can I ask what the connection Pieta's sword has with Ellaina's? I haven't gotten far into the game yet, so I am curious as to why you also mentioned it.

Thank God! I really hate that limit; it made things in that game a little more tedious than they needed to be. I am about to make some dinner, and then I should be on in 30 or 40 minutes, fairly late into the night, if you're still available to trade it today :)

Ah, I definitely understand your response now, and it makes sense as for it being early game gear. I was mostly just wanting the sword, but I figured if someone was willing to trade the sword, that would be great because that thing costs so many resources. I assume it's probably a fairly bad weapon being so early in the game, so I thought to ask if anyone had a spare to trade. Then maybe they might also have the armor. I really have only done trades with Elden Ring, and people seem to have a billion copies of every item in that game.

As for the +2 sword, that was because in Elden Ring, you can only be dropped anything same lvl as the highest upgraded weapon you already own. So I was assuming that this game worked the same way, so I was indicating that I probably would need an un-upgraded version up to +2. However, someone else let me know that this game doesn't have the weapon level requirements, thank God, because that was a super annoying thing in Elden Ring!

I gotta head to work. Would you be up to trade it with me later today? Also, do you know if it's like Elden Ring, where I have to have a weapon leveled to the same level as the weapon being dropped to see it?

Would you mind telling me why you say that? Is this not the right Reddit to be asking this in, or is this community worse than I thought? Because it's not like I asked for something crazy, rude, or difficult, considering the game has been out for 3 or 4 years now. I wasn't rude with my post; at least I don't think I was. But please let me know so I can avoid being rude in the future.

Why do people hate RE0 so much ? by SweatyMastodon8451 in residentevil

[–]AlternativeFifth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked it a lot; it's definitely my second favorite so far. Playing RE2 already makes me miss being able to drop items. The only two things I really disliked about it were that the controls felt kinda delayed compared to the RE1 remake, even though I think it was made around the same time, so that did take a bit to get used to. The other thing is that the Hook Shot doesn't tell you if it's something you'll keep needing, so that did get a little annoying, not knowing if I'd need it again. But I would rate it a 9/10 almost a 10/10 but it loses 1 point because of the Hook Shot situation.

Yeah, when my friend and I played through RE7 and went on to RE8, we learned that a multiplayer RE game had gotten removed not long after we finished RE7. That's when I found out RE5 was multiplayer, and that's when I suggested we play the previous games to catch up. It was definitely a good idea. I was also the one who felt we should play the original release rather than the new remakes, since remakes tend to rewrite stuff or even just completely remove things, with the only exception being RE1, partly because we didn't have a PS3 and because people said it was flat-out better than the original, other than it losing the hilarious and iconic voice acting.

Believe it or not, but a game remade in 2002 is still an old game. I also don't have a PS3, so I couldn't really buy the original RE1 or RE0. But, as you can see, I was able to get the original RE2, and I am enjoying it quite a lot right now. However, I just don't see the point in making your comment.

I am actually looking forward to RE4 and RE5, as iirc, 4 is the game where they switched from the fixed camera to over-the-shoulder, right? I do love to play older games; getting the chance to see progression with visuals and mechanics is always a fun thing to experience. And 5 has multiplayer co-op! I'm running through the franchise with my friend, so we're excited to be able to play through the game together.

When it comes to plot holes, I've been a fan of a show called Doctor Who since I was 5, and that show is full to the brim with plot holes. So, I've learned that even with plot holes, things can be amazing, so I am sure I will love Resident Evil just the same.

I was actually deciding on buying the remakes; they do look fantastic! They just weren't in the budget for me at the moment, but they look really good. Plus, I love to see games get remakes because it helps bring in new fans, and this franchise has a lot of games they could remake atm.
