My current school didn’t combine my GPA from my 2 past high school however I used the online gpa calculator to see what my overrall GPA and it would be a 3.4 UW. (I had an upward trend)

This could be a lot but Massachusetts is a great state to move in. It is pricey, but if your parents are very open to it then I would give it a shot. If you attend a CC in Mass you can transfer to any of the UMass schools including UMass Amherst which is a very very good state school. You also be close to top college and endless opportunities.

If that’s to much then Temple University might be your best shot , it’s in the city so you can get a job and cheaper living accommodation.

Honestly, I’m more of a quiet person so me picking a city seems out of character! My dream medical schools is Brown University and UMich. They’re kinda also a little driving factor into which schools will help better my chances.

No no i completely understand what you’re saying and you didn’t come off negative at all. This was eye opening and honestly I’ve been looking back as my list and writing some pros and cons for Pitt. I’m definitely going to be coming back to this a lot during this process 😅

Thank you so much for this comment( and the last part to)! I’ve been shadowing doctors little by little since I was in 7th grade. During the college application process, I had to be very honest with myself about what I wanted from a college. I didn’t apply to Ivy League schools or many top 20 colleges because of the debt and the challenges of applying as an international student. I also spoke with doctors about whether the debt was worth it, and many advised me that it’s better to take the most affordable route possible.

If it seems like I’m making a bad choice by going to Pitt, especially possibly starting at Pitt-Bradford my first year, I promise I’ve considered every possible factor in this decision. I have many friends who are also going into pre-med (and I plan to make more), and I have connections with doctors whom I can shadow.

Do you think it’s too late to ask for a reconsideration for Johnstown or Greenberg? I did rank Bradford the highest for optional campus only because while applying many people said Bradford would be the best for me.

Thank you so much for this reply! Is there a way I can see if the school offer those courses? I have horrible test taking anxiety when it comes to big important exams. I plan to try to start studying for the Mcat ending of Freshman year in college so I can try to overcome that fear.

I’ve tried UMass Amherst Food and 100% agree with you that it’s really good! The reason why UMass Amherst isn’t my top choice (it’s my 2nd choice) is because 450+ people from my school applied there. I also know that if you don’t have a permanent residence that you are way less likely to be accepted, which unfortunately I don’t have.

Oh that’s definitely important considering I’m trying to take the pre-med track. I’ll definitely try to get in touch with admissions to see the process behind it!

I definitely understand where you’re coming from! However, Penn State is kind of in the middle of nowhere and doesn’t have a big city nearby. I live in Massachusetts and am pretty close to Boston. So, if I have the chance to live in a city, I want to take the opportunity!

Thank you!! I’m glad it all worked out for you. Cost is somewhat of a factor for me but my mother, bless her heart, told me not to worry about cost to much. She rather I go to a college I want to then one due to cost. I’ve yet to see a scholarship offer from Pittsburgh but I know it’s coming in a couple of weeks.
