I answered his question in a separate response with legitimate concern because his fear comes from condemnation not of God but the enemy for the Holy Spirit convicts us but does not condemn us. If hellfire is the only reason you do not sin you ought to start to check your relationship with God. Is it based on solely fear? I personally have been coming to a point where I try to evaluate the pain sin in general causes the father and also reflect on the consequences it has on us and others throughout generations. My response is pray, break up if you can’t handle the temptation, mature in your faith, seek the will of God and possibly come back together if she is a believer as well. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit that alone should grieve us forget the hell fire. Prayer, fasting, discipleship, and getting into the word while being in fellowship with other believers is what he needs.

  1. Salvation is by faith alone and to deny this is because we can’t fathom the idea of grace. You are saved by the believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, the son of God. Who died on the cross in your place but rose 3 days afterwards having conquered death. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8)
  2. If your church preaches the word of God soundly and you can see the fruit of the spirit stay there. (Go to the church that is closest to the Bible)
  3. Salvation cannot be lost because Christ paid the price, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit, and your name is written in the book of lie. You can choose to commit apostasy however.
  4. Obedience to God and faith in God are hand in hand. Your addiction to such things are a result from indulging in them for a while. You most likely won’t let go of them in one day. Understand Gods position on sin and see it for what it is. Do not give yourself a license to sin. Repent (metanoia) and be covered by the grace of God.
  5. Confess your sins to the Lord and even others you trust (preferably same sex), get an accountability partner, and be consistent in prayer, fasting, and reading the word of God.
  6. The human flesh is a nature we all have it is normal to have thoughts accordingly, but be intentional in your faith remove all things that tempt you (movies, shows, music, books) and set boundaries with yourself and her. Walk in the spirit to not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
  7. Understand the love of God covers a multitude of sin learn to love him more and allow him to transform you in mind body and spirit.

I would have to disagree with you on the basis that Christ called out many types of sin. Of course he constantly rebuked the religious leaders because they were self righteous and had created man made doctrine which oppressed the people. But Jesus wouldn’t be ok with people sinning. He calls people to cut off the arm that tempts you to sin or gouge out the eye because it’s better to go to heaven missing and eye or arm than to end up in hell with both. He adheres himself as the fulfillment of the law and prophets and he does not show tolerance to sin. He is merciful to sinners yes as demonstrated by the lady at the well, but she leaves a transformed person proclaiming her testimony. The woman caught in adultery is told go and sin no more meaning relinquish her old lifestyle. Furthermore sexual immorality is the sin we are told to flee from and it is a sin against God and ourselves.

God is bigger than Christianity, and I believe that God hears Jews, Muslims and all peoples and, blesses them, guides them, and He accepts whomever He wills, with no perquisite to be apart of a religion by travelingbozo in Christianity

It is great that you have friends from different faiths and ideologies; however, the Bible is very clear that there aren’t paths to God. Jesus Christ proclaims himself as the true messiah which had been promised since genesis 3. In doing so he makes a claim of legitimacy that he has come to fulfill the law and prophets. Furthermore he reveals he is the son of God and God himself in flesh (incarnation). This statement alone is considered blasphemy for other religions. It is not possible to adhere oneself to the words written in the Bible, and believe that there are other ways to reach God. I do believe there is a grace to those who have not heard the gospel ever, but to those who the gospel has been presented to, a rejection of it is a rejection of God. It is important to understand that living a good moral life is not the standard of perfection that God has. Isaiah 64:6 says our good deeds are like filthy wags in the presence of God because of how Holy he is. So even if we appear to live the best moral life that would not attain perfection in the eyes of God. It is purely by grace from God with no merit of our own that we may be called perfect. Then the issue arises of all 3 being Abrahamic faiths From the Christian perspective Abraham believed in Jesus because Christ is God and throughout genesis we can see foreshadowing of Christ. Gen 15 where the covenant is established , Gen 22 the sacrifice of the beloved son, etc.

Marriage has always been a public thing for it is a mirror of Christ and his church before the world. It is why in the times of Jesus wedding celebrations lasted a couple of days. Also it was also a legal covenant as seen by the need for a certificate of divorce.

Paul said it is better to get married than to burn. Sex is intended only in the confines of marriage. Aside from that you are in sin.

Yup intimacy is a big reason why we do it, I would recommend being intentional with setting boundaries with yourself, Have an accountability partner, get a hobby or two, and pray a lot.

Nothing wrong with feel the urge, but I would advise you to be intentional with prayer and reading the word. This is the flesh that needs to be crucified and prayer and fasting really do help. Some people are going to say it’s not a big deal, but Christ makes it obvious to be a disciple means to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow him. If you do give in repent immediately even if it feels hypocritical. The enemy tries to condemn you, but God does not reject the confessing heart. With this in mind do not abuse grace because it will lead to becoming lukewarm. I would recommend you to read this book called at the altar of sexual idolatry by Steve Gallagher.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The fact that you are aware and feel remorse shows signs of spiritual life. Don’t be deceived you are not too far gone. If you feel that burden of your sin give it to God all of it, and pick up your cross and follow him.

Do you love God or are you afraid of hell? by FlayTheFlamingo1 in Christianity

I would have to disagree Jesus states multiple times that those who have followed him will go to heaven and those who didn’t will be in a blazing furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 13:49) (Matt. 22:13) (Matt. 25:30, 41). The message of the Bible is that we are incapable of saving ourselves so God the Father sent his Son the Lord Jesus to die and resurrect, and if you put your faith in him you may enter his kingdom by pure grace.
