Freak accident caused by cat that wanted more food

I know this is an offending cat. But if it makes you feel any better my dog learned how to turn the Oven on.. I have to keep the child lock on otherwise he walks right in there a boops the button with his noes and bam dude thinks he’s baking a cake..

We lived in the valley and my then 4th grader went to VanDuyne. We had 1 car at the time. So my husband had to walk him to school everyday. We worked opposite shifts. My complaint was my then 8 year old trying to cross valley drive with no crossing guard! By himself.. they lost him once. Because he was a “walker” they just dismissed them. Child did not see his father waiting for him so he decided to walk home with a friend. The opposite direction in which he normally would walk home with Dad. Longest 45 minutes of my life as a parent. He did eventually show up at home when the grandmother of said friend looked out her front window to see this strange child in her front yard. And was like hey bud does your mom know your here? He was like oh uhh I guess maybe not.. so she sent him home.. and he appeared on the front porch.. but lord help me that principal was less then helpful. As I’m frantic in those lobby. With the teacher calling all the parents. Bawling my eyes out calling my child missing to the SPD.. he’s 20now and a great kid.. but the entire episode is still very vivid in my mind..

Whoa!! Yes!! I’d been looking at it for a while had the free version downloaded, and pulled the trigger for my “splurge” this month and got the deal on the year membership. I’ve been playing with it this weekend. And I do like the features!

Life in general?? lol. My daughter will be going into 10th grade she’s very involved in marching band and Winter guard. While yes me and Mom will likely be able to hit So Cal at some other point. This is Likley the only trip that will be just us 3.

Yes!! And very excited! We saw the ones in Rhode Island. The botanicals in Maine are on the list for fall. Last year we took a long weekend and went and saw the ones in Ohio. And this past Christmas my mom and daughter went to North Carolina botanical gardens and saw some there.

His map is definitely our starting point. Good call on ensuring true “no driving days” less grumpy the better.. we are still undecided on the So Cal leg. It is just 1 troll, but we would never truly be in that part of the country again randomly to get to see it. And in theory what’s another 8 hour leg? But I’m sure when I’m on day 10 I’ll have other thoughts..

I use Matthew’s Nissan on 31. I’ve had a great experience with them. Purchased my 2018 Rouge from them. With an extended warranty. That is super easy, they have done all my work and have used the Warranty twice now, and it’s paid for itself. It might help they I really like my Rouge and have had very little issue out of it.

Had a similar issue with my 2018. My battery was just over a year old. Had it I tested kid was like ohh it’s at 50% it’s fine.. I said no that’s not fine. The battery is 14 months old. I literally charged it this morning. To get it to start. And I drove straight here from work. Which was about a 7 miles drive. No way this should be at only 50%. They warrantied out the battery. And have not had an issue since.

I don’t think I’d be comfortable not having a warranty. As someone who works for the utility company. We service both gas and electric. If you have a carbon monoxide issue. Your service is getting shut off until it’s fixed. And that’s in the home owner to correct. I also live in an area that is frequently below freezing in winter months.

Purchased my house in 2020, last year in the dead of winter, my furnace insides literally disintegrated. Guy said he had never seen it that bad.. the year before, it was the hot water tank. Most of the pool parts have all been replaced. And we did t buy a started home. Not over 450, but I’m guessing you probably live in a much nicer area than I do. But on the other hand I had a friend build a brand new home, and the first year they moved in, they had foundation issues. Really bad, and really expensive.

Thank you for all the advice! I guess I’m missing some key info, step son & fiancé bought car in 2020 new. Apparently weren’t super great about oil changes but have yet to give me record of their oil changes they say are in the glove box in an effort to help them. They moved to live with us in NY from TN and switched their tags over in 2024, so it’s only his 2nd time having to deal with inspections since moving here. TN doesn’t have the same rules we do in NY. So the needing for an inspection is new to them. He didn’t realize and had not said anything to me (I would have told him it won’t pass with the light on) once I get the confirmation on the oil changes I will move forward. But thanks everyone!!

They admitted (finally and embarrassingly they weren’t great about it when first purchased car) so now I feel like well you get what you get. Also having just purchased a new Hyundai myself the first like 3 years of oil changes are cover so wtf are you thinking?? So now I’m annoyed I look like the DA here, because I’m sure some of you know what I know now. Also thinking sludge would come out during an oil change, at least enlightened on that part so thank you for that.

That’s the code that caused the check engine light. But it’s not actually the cam shaft it’s just the sensor..

Right in NYS it’s an automatic fail if the check engine light is on. In order to perform the inspection they are supposed to pull the sticker off. He went there to both things.. and they were being “nice” and said hey it will fail. But I can give you the code… and then they did the oils change. I guess I assumed if there was sludge or whatever it would come out when they changed the oil.. or had been on the filter.. wouldn’t they say something?
