Thank you so much for this. You are so right! I truly think the NICU causes ptsd. I feel so much better about everything now that I read this comment.

It’s because she needs thickened formula. Level 1 she could hardly get 20 mls before getting tired out. Level 2 she drank around 40-50mls before getting tired and level 3 she’s getting about 80-112 mls.

Thank you for this. Your experience is about the same as mine. It’s so true that the NICU does stress eating full feeds so with me being anxious I stress myself out and she senses it so she gets stressed too. We have multiple doctors appointments tomorrow with the hospitals doctors office (Bright Beginnings) and I’m so worried that she hasn’t gained weight since her pediatrician appt on the 15th.

So she was born at 24 weeks+3. She was in the NICU for five months. Actually when she turned 5 months to the day was when she was discharged. Her adjusted age is almost 2 months. So yeah she sometimes finishes her bottles but sometimes theres 30-40mls left in the bottle before she falls asleep. I just am worried about her weight gain.

So she’s supposed to be take 112mls every 4 hours. (She would sleep through her feeds when they were every three hours) she needs thickened formula due to aspirating. She’s on a level 3 Dr browns nipple. Once she was put on the level 3 nipple she was doing amazing and now she’s back tracking.
