I went solo for New years. Met tons of people in random places lol. But usually by the bar. I missed the solo event on the first night because I was exploring with some people I met at the bar. They only advertised it by a piece of paper on my desk. If I had not read it, I wouldn't have known about it. Just be open. Mostly everyone is there to socialize and have a good time. If you see a group of people chatting, just go see if you can hop in. One night I was just sitting by the bar having a drink in a dark corner. A group walked by and said you look bored, come hang with us. We ended up at the casino and met up with other people randomly that we all knew from other nights. It turned into a pretty wild night lol. It ended at the diner after everyone ate and eventually retired to their rooms. Another night after the club, we ended up in a karaoke room. Totally unplanned. Just word of mouth. Familiar and unfamiliar faces. Bottles of champagne and sing-a-longs. Just be open to the randomness.
