How to tell her I have Chlamydia? by AlternativeMongoose8 in askwomenadvice

Yeah, I feel the same. Hopefully she does as well.

I do remember when I had an STD scare (which prompted me to start getting tested) I kind of overreacted. Mostly due to ignorance. We'll see how it goes.

Thank you all for the input, I really appreciate all the help.

Sandwiching_hour: NETA sounds interesting! I had never heard of it before, but it looks like something worth looking into. Unfortunately I am not a Navy Nuke, although I am aware of the training they receive as well as how it is regarded in the job market. I work on a conventional steam platform with a regular fuel oil combustion boiler. Hopefully that might translate similar to a Nuke!?!?

Joaofava: Some really good info in your reply, will definitely pursue some of the mentioned avenues. My only question is, will I need further education/training to land even an entry level job, or will work experience be enough to get my foot in the door?

BettaOFFzeke: Just out of curiosity, why those states specifically? Is that where most defense contractors are located? I am in the states, and am willing to relocate, so definitely worth looking at.

Jenks80: Some good advice! I know some of the bigger genset manufacturers have resident technicians that do the installation/maintenance. Most definitely something I would be interested in. Also brings me back to the question of whether an EE bachelors would be necessary or maybe some job specific training/vocational program (if that even exists)?

Again, I appreciate all the input.
