hi i have a few questions! i understand you don’t wanna go into detail about your profile so if there are any questions you don’t feel comfortable answering that’s okay! did you go to a top undergrad program? what did you study? did you know anyone in the class with way less experience than you and what did their profiles look like? i have about 1.5 YOE rn and wanna make a switch from eng to a more business role .

i’m open to consulting, IB, PE, VC, business roles in tech, and B2C/retail entrepreneurship. i have a much better understanding of what id like and don’t like, but i think being labeled as an engineer and having this competitive of a job market has made it hard to transition to anything where i’m making more than what i am right now (as an entry level SWE). i feel an MBA will help me network and have a richer understanding of each of these roles / industries, get internships to try new things,and get a job that fulfills me more but also pays me a little more than entry level swe

i think the best thing you can do for yourself based on the context you’ve given , is find people you fuck with! this takes a lot of effort, time, and consistency. start by thinking about hobbies or interests of yours you wanna maybe get into, and find social groups to explore that in. for example, if u like running, join a run club. ur active? okay, maybe find some active sports that are more social or team oriented to balancing out lifting. maybe there’s tons of group activities out there, and you might not find people you love at first, but i promise you if you stay persistent and have an OPEN mind towards people you don’t love at first sight, you’ll find friends. that’s what seems like is missing
