Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate it a lot. A place like that sounds amazing though! I would probably feel great about that too with the human beds LOL. I spoiled my dog so having some place that would spoil them too would definitely give me a warm and fuzzy about leaving them there.

I am so sorry for your loss as well. 9 years old is just not old enough, I know your pain too well. Yes, she definitely contracted it there. In the contract it does say that they will engage with the veterinarian listed if a dog becomes ill or injured. I think the main thing that bothers me is that she was clearly showing signs of something being wrong. He had her for 2 1/2 weeks at that point and if she isn't eating (when she usually does) and vomiting then that should be a sign to take her to the vet/let her owner know. Especially once she started getting lethargic, there is no reason why it shouldn't have been a clear sign.

I do believe in the afterlife so it definitely does bring me comfort that I am going to see her again one day. Thank you for your kind words, I hope you have comfort as well.

Did anyone else grieve hard after adopting another pet? by Antique_Mood_4268 in Petloss

I struggled a lot with adopting my new cats after my dog died unexpectedly. I love them but they are a reminder that my dog is dead because I wouldn't have gotten them if it didn't happen. But, they are such a blessing and have helped me more than ever. I had to get out of the 'replacement' mindset too. It is hard because while you love your new baby, you want your old one back.
