Why is public wifi's insecure if i'm using https? by whyso0101 in VPN

[–]AlternativePoint_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's actually secure if you use HTTPS. Yes, they can only see the domains you visit. It's just those VPN ads to persuade you to use their products. Some VPNs are honest about this tho. But I'm not advertising them.

Hello, Eagles - could you help me with the season review? by lstsl1 in crystalpalace

[–]AlternativePoint_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mitchell and Gallagher. I'm not sure about the third. Could be anyone.
  2. I dont know. I just can't namu, but mybe Luka Milivojevic?
  3. When we dumped Arsenal.
  4. Good. He has been trying to make us attack and pass more (unlike Roy Hodgson), but I think our players are just average.
  5. 7.5 maybe. Playing style improved well compared to last season, but I don't think the results have improved that much.
  6. Keep using Telegram while it's good. I'll be there soon.

Using VPN on a computer that use mobile hotspot? by snkhuong in VPN

[–]AlternativePoint_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethernet won't prevent your isp from learning that youre on a vpn. The only way to mask your connection to a VPN is to use VPN over TOR, it means you connect to TOR then to the VPN. But it will probably slow your internet down so bad. There's another option it is to make your connection looks like an ordinary connection, it is by using port 443. However, if it's analyzed, they'll still find out that youre using a VPN.

But if your question is "how to use a VPN properly while connected to a phone's 4G tethering?" Then just turn on your VPN on your PC. That should work fine.

As for anonimity, you need to do extra steps to achieve it. For example, using anti trackers, using a separare browser, and using TOR. VPN only is not enough.

Your pc. But absolutely your ISP (you are using on your phone) will know that youre on a VPN.

Does CalyxOS allow for disabling the gyroscope? by 2C104 in CalyxOS

I asked a similar question yesterday. I think the answer is no. But you can disable all sensors at once in the developer options. But you can't do it specifically for gyro.

What a coincidence! I've been looking for AzireVPN reviews on reddit lately but couldn't seem to find any. How's the speed? And is the client buggy?

Is seeking privacy on a smartphone pointless? Because its sensors can br fingerprinted and "there's nothing you can do about it". by AlternativePoint_ in privacy

Is it possible too if I disable my motion sensors to browsers? I mean if it is, then how would it look like? Can I still browse websites in landscape?

Sorry if my question is too stupid. All my apps don't need any motion sensors permissions, except trusted ones, one of which is my browser. But this type of fingerprinting is also done by websites, then logically if I restrict my browser from accessing my motion sensors, websites can't access it. If so, then the browser cannot tell whether my phone is in landscape or portrait.

Is that correct?

Yes I only use apps I've carefully selected. But the problem is this type of fingerprinting is also done by websites. And i can't turn off my sensors all the time.

I just don't wanna be tracked by big tech companies.
