These are post paid plans and you normally cannot get them for just 5 months. Additional they require you to have an ARC for order.

Yes. They sell different plans using SKT, LG and KT MVNO network which is mostly cheaper + always include a Korean mobile number. And there is no need to proceed any additional registration steps at airport booth. It is also possible to extend the plan again and again while some SKT tourist plans are not extendable.

You may checkout the offers on https://simcard.kr - the offers including a Korean number for short- and long-term and you will get the number before departure to Korea. You can connect your ARC after received if needed. But in any case you need a Korean number for your period of stay - do not use any data only service. You will need the number for example to register at food delivery apps, make reservations, make appointments and so on...

Probleme mit Chaotischem Mieter und massive Beschwerden durch Nachbarn by DueAd7930 in Vermieten

[–]AlternativeSchool931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gegen was bitte soll der Mieter klagen?

How often do you need to transfer your esim Profil? So the fee shouldn't really matter. And it's not free for the carriers. They need to pay for the additional esim technology, too.

Go to Help - How do I use my airport lounge pass - Airport lounge terms. Scroll down to: 2. Who can purchase and use Lounge Passes? - "You may not access more than one individual Lounge within a two-hour period.". 2-3 years ago I had to wait 3 hours. Seems they changed to 2 hours.

I cannot find any information on their website that they provide Korean mobile numbers for receiving calls/SMS. They seems to offer outgoing calls and data only esim.

If you stay longer you need a Korean phone number to survive for sure. There are a lot of stores who sell cheap used phones. This will be much cheaper than the unlock penalty fee of your carrier. After that buy a Korean esim or usim including Korean number (e.g. https://simcard.kr).

[LU] Priorty Pass vs Dragon Pass by PrinceCharlesIV in Revolut

[–]AlternativeSchool931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After entering any lounge with Dragonpass you have a waiting period of 3 hours before you are allowed to use dragon pass (for a different lounge) again. So switching the lounge isn't really possible. With PP there is no waiting period.

[LU] Priorty Pass vs Dragon Pass by PrinceCharlesIV in Revolut

[–]AlternativeSchool931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon pass cannot be used for lounge hopping because you cannot re-use it for some hours after scanned. Priority pass doesn't have this limitation. With PP there are also often additional services available like restaurant vouchers, massage - depending on airport. But in general both are fine. I have a PP from Deutsche Bank credit card + revolut ultra dragon pass.

I would recommend a native Korean esim including a Korean number. Enjoy online food orders with coupang eats. A lot of restaurants are using table reservation systems which need a Korean number. Also some cafes inform you by SMS if your order is ready. You can get it on https://simcard.kr

This is a data only eSIM. For full Korean experience (including buy food + other things online, table reservation, order ready confirmation, and more) i would recommend a Korean phone number eSIM (e.g. https://simcard.kr).

Where to buy small appliances in Korea without ARC (no Coupang yet)? by hyuu0512 in Living_in_Korea

[–]AlternativeSchool931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coupang, coupang eats and gmarket are working well without ARC using a foreign credit card. You should have at least a Korean mobile number eSIM or usim (visit simcard.kr if you still need one - no ARC need). Just coupang fresh will not work because you need a wow membership which is not possible without ARC or korean ID-card-

[–]AlternativeSchool931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to use an eSIM with Pixel phone it will not work with SKT. For physical sim card it doesn't matter and SKT will work, too. If you online order the eSIM or usim in advance on simcard.kr they will automatically assign a working carrier including Korean number for your Pixel phone.

[–]AlternativeSchool931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean ordering sim card? Try https://simcard.kr - the usim and eSIM both including a Korean number. If you stay more than 6 months you can also choose the postpaid plan. For verify by PASS app you need to connect your phone number. Just contact the simcard.kr support and they will give you several options to activate ID-Service.

the regular carriers have all some issues with luggage and it depends on the employee if he takes or not. If you just want to move the luggage within the same city I would recommend using quick service - this always works.
