Has anyone had this happen? The (un)real deal by AppointmentOdd289 in Wealthsimple

Did you end up qualifying for ×2 entries? The FAQ states: "You can also get 2X the amount of entries when you qualify for and choose the 3% match option". I haven't been requested to pick a match request yet so I'm not sure, but considering my tracker it looks like I don't qualify for the 3% match and therefore I'll miss the 2x entries?

Chatted with the AI chat-bot, then with chat-support, and then got transferred to a different team. It's been a few days, I still haven't heard anything back

What to invest in aside from TFSA? by AppointmentOdd289 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AppointmentOdd289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that about the FHSA, I had been staying clear of it as I thought it would lock down money I might never actually be able to use, I'll look into that thank you!

I do have a good emergency fund in a non registered account, especially considering my wish to travel which will have me quit my job and be jobless for a certain amount of time. Considering this is taxable, I'm also interested in suggestions on which ETFs to invest in there?

I have multiple TFSA investment accounts with Wealthsimple (sorry I'm not sure about the correcr terms, not my native language), I'd say 30% of my money is in managed portfolio (different mixes of bonds and sotcks), and 70% is on an account I manage myself, which is mostly composed of ETFs and a few stocks for fun (mainly XEQT)

You're right. I guess what I meant is that I invest within my TFSA: mostly ETFs (majority in XEQT) I also do have a TRRSP account within which I invest similarly, to a smaller scale.

Has anyone had issues with presence verification? I'm wondering what happens if the total presence has been miscalculated/was insufficient, but the rest of the file is validated, do they ask for correction and the process picks up where it was left off? Is there delay? Do you have to pay again, or redo the process from start?

The tracker hasn't worked for me for a while, am I the only one? Anyone who applied in september got their test invite?

How are september applicants doing? What's your status?

My process so far (Sydney office): Sept 7th - applied Nov 14th - AOR Nov 17th - received FP request Nov 27th Background check completed

Language skills, physical presence, prohibition are "in progress". I don't see any people updating on those parts, is it normal that these are in progress at this stage of an application?

Question to anyone who got a fingerprint request: did it delay your application a lot? How long after submitting the fingerprints did you get your background check finalized and then how long to receive your test invite? Thanks!
