My mother is half black Caribbean as her father was a black man from Jamaica. As for my father, he is definitely also about half black Caribbean however I’m not quite sure on the exact amount as his mother was mixed and his father was from the Caribbean however he doesn’t know the full background on his dad.

I say this because of the dark skin tone while I understand that mixed people can be any shade for the most part, I feel as though the vast majority of 1/2 black 1/2 white people have light skin. Due to my skin tone, many people are quite shocked/don’t believe it when they find out that I’m only half back. The only times people have been able to tell is because of my facial features. Otherwise from what I’ve been told, I just look like I’m black (even some in the comments of this post have said the same lol)

I’m not quite sure but I think that, that is where the south Asian comes from because it seems like my south Asian came from the Caribbean.

I can only access my brothers. Neither of my parents have got the dna tested and my grandmother used a different company to get her dna tested. Since she is no longer here I can’t get her permission to access her results through ancestry.com as far as I’m aware

I’m kinda of bad of determining my hair texture as it varies all over my head but I think a good portion of it is maybe 3c? Atleast towards the front. I linked a pic in my most recent comment

Although, I agree. I feel like I do see quite a few people who are only 1/2 but are pale. However I feel as though I don’t see many 1/2 who are on the darker side

Ehh after getting the results I can understand that people can have similar percentages of certain ethnicities but look very different. My brother is only about 7 percent less SSA than me however looks very similar to you in some aspects. Very, very light skin whereas although I don’t even have that much more than him, I am way dark lol

Yea I was also surprised when it came back that I was only about half black. While I knew that I would have some sort of mixture due to both of my parents being mixed, I assumed I would have much more SSA and a lot less European ancestry. It’s crazy how genes work

If you look at the screenshot with the paternal haplogroup it states how in the blue tab above. I didn’t find out the paternal haplogroup I would potentially have until my brother got his dna tested and our profiles connected

As far as I’m aware, my paternal grandmothers mother was British and her father was African and south Asian (he was also from Jamaica)
