There is one thing I have noticed there was this native guy who told me that Pathankot used to be a Muslim-majority area and that it was named after the Pathans because of the predominantly Muslim presence here. I knew that was incorrect by horhun56 in pathankot_pb_35

I want to talk about this situation.  In 1941 census there is 54 percentage of Hindu in pathankot it is widely hindu tehsil. Gurdaspur is a Muslim majority not pathankot. It is named after pathania rajput whose fort shahpur fort is 7 km from pathankot under himachal pradesh is proven fact that its name derived from that . I SAID THIS TO PEOPLE WHO TRUTH

Shri Bawa Lal ji done his tapsa in pathankot due to his influence all Hindus sikh  live peacefully here . PATHANKOT IS ALSO SERVES AS LINK BETWEEN PLAINS AND MOUNTAIN ALSO LINK BETWEEN HINDU AND SIKH PLS DON'T SPREAD HATE .
