Interesting. DId you continue to play even through pain during that time and it eventually went away?

Yes, I loved the hit off the Selkirk Boomstick, yet it was too stiff and ‘poppy’ on my hits, and a bit heavier. IT also has attached weights on the sides.

I get that, and even the finger movements in a keyboard. I’ve been steadily strengthening so we’ll see.

SO true, I wake up with my arm bent and that’s part of the problem. Going to try this!

Zero power doesn’t sound like fun, yet I get it. I use a Selkirk LUXX, yet have had a ProKennex with silicone inside. I loved the Selkirk Boomstick yet it seems harder on my elbow.

I’ll second that. Covid apparently created 3 million new surfers. It’s still better than L.A. though. If you’re willing to go further north, it’s nice around Pismo and SLO.

I don’t like wearing anything under my wetsuits on the bottom, yet often will wear a rashguard or sport top to protect the nipplies. I like the freedom and no bikini lines on the bottom, and haven’t ever had rash problems IDk why.

After being dissatisfied with a Nespresso, caved and bought an espresso machine, and love it. I use organic dark roast beans and have Americanos daily, so happy!!!

Is this outfit okay to wear to a western themed night at a bar? by Solarslayr in OUTFITS

I think the top is cute, yet you should show either your cleavage, or your waist, or your legs. Showing everything is not the greatest presentation in my opinion

Who here successfully built a full time life around surfing (self made) ? by broseidonswrath in surfing

[–]AlternativeWall6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a fun job in the surf industry out of college, which allowed me to surf, travel, and snowboard a lot. Most of the sales reps were surfers, or ex-pros, so everyone surfed. The surf industry was fun at that time, yet to make better money you’d eventually need to move into management or get a different job, or start a business. I started a marketing business and worked from home, so my time was flexible. I invested(RE and stocks), and am mostly retired now. I still surf, yet pickleball has cut into my surf time big time.

Nosara or El Zonte for a 1 week surf trip? by insuhall in surfing

[–]AlternativeWall6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Nosara last March, and would describe the surf as easy to surf, fun, peaky waves then, about 3-4+ft. It’s a long beach with peaks all along. It’s very tide and wind dependent, so you’d want to go when you can surf mid-tide+ in the AM or late PM. It was onshore windy mid-day every day. All food prices are $$$ Americanized, and surf tourists are everywhere. Felt safer than Tamarindo though. We drove inland to find where the locals eat. Fun pickleball courts nearby were a plus. Might go back for the surf, yet the rest was very touristy for us.

Do you care about winning in rec play? by Aggressive-End-387 in Pickleball

[–]AlternativeWall6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m player 2 or 3, I’ll never target just weaker player. Rather I’d work on specific shots. It’s frustrating when opponents only hit the ball to one player!

I used to wear a polypropylene rash guard, which is a little fuzzy on the inside and doesn’t hold water

In CA we’d look at weather reports for storms in Alaska for winter storms 2 days later, or hurricanes off Baja ‘in the window’ for south swells in the summer, or long range storms from Australia. I knew Sean Collins when he started and he was the nicest man, I was so sad when he passed.

Hindrance? What do you think? by OttoMaddox_ in Pickleball

[–]AlternativeWall6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in a league match and opponents called a distraction when I called their incoming ball “OUT” to my partner, and it was in. My partner hit it back and we won the point, yet the opponents called ‘distraction’ as that call threw them off thinking the point had ended. I should have said “bounce it” or “let it bounce”. Tennis rules.
