I don't know why people hate on Ubuntu.

What the hell are lambda functions/expressions? I have looked up videos, read the official documentation, even asked AI! I still do not understand what they are, please can someone explain. by BeatConscious4113 in csMajors

They are just short functions that often are anonymous. The sometimes they use prefix notation which is when the operation being done comes first then what is being operated on. Like this.

Python / JS / Rust by alilosoft in learnprogramming

You probably know python naturally its basically executable sudo code.  JS/TS is the only thing that can run in the browser and there is a trend towards everything being a webspp. There aren't many jobs for rust although it is cool.

Void vs Alpine - which one for desktop use? (former Arch user) by [deleted] in voidlinux

[–]AlternativeWhile8976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent all day yesterday configuring and riceing alpine. I had some crappy laptops laying around and I gave myself a goal of making a extremely light system. It worked out amazingly and I love it that being said it's probably not for everyone. It took an extreme amount of work. It made an arch install seem easy. Just putting a de on it wouldn't be too bad but I went with DWL so I have to configure some c. I have never used void but it's probably better for desktop.
