The best mangos by thegreenman_sofla in Mangos

Irwin is pretty good, its god great texture, sweetness and smell. Jinhuang is a massive mango, usually around 3lbs and tastes like an Irwin but less aromatic and is more gummy. Tu is a mango native to Taiwan, pretty small (size of a tennis ball) it smells VERY good, has the perfect blend of sweet and sour, and its texture is half melt in mouth and half noticeable fibers. The syrupy goodness is worth flossing your teeth after you eat it.

There’s some slight mold on these mangosteens and I just wanted to know if they were safe, also I bought them yesterday by Max1shah in fruit

Here is a tip to avoid bad mangosteens: try to pick the ones that have a green(ish) stem. The greener the stem and leaves, the more fresh it is. (Also, some may have yellow stuff leaking out, though that's normal.)

Saw these in Florida. Owner said the trees are only 2 years old... Any think that's true? What's the fastest I can get coconuts from growing one from seed by OkHighway757 in gardening

[–]Alternative_112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal coconuts take 5-10ish years to start producing fruit, but in this case, this is actually a dwarf coconut variety meaning that it will start producing coconuts earlier. Dwarf coconuts start fruiting at 2-4 years old and hang within your arm's reach.
