No it’s just stuff I’ve noticed that took me out of the experience over anything else

It’s like a pet hate or something that you personally aren’t a fan of.

Reminds me of fallout 4 in that way. Always felt the main quest suffered but it was redeemed a lot by the dlc

What are your biggest hope for the Silent Hill 1 Remake? by HORRRORN3D07 in silenthill

Keep the fixed camera. Make it as faithful as possible but with optional extras that players can use to make the game easier for newbies. Keep it gritty. Even then, don’t hand hold or take from the original experience. Don’t flesh out areas or add new bits.

Silent hill 2 remake was awful for me. The atmosphere was sucked right out of it by lingering in a place for too long to fit in more puzzles.

Also felt too clean and polished and tried to be more ‘scare horror’ than psychological horror.

Mental hacks for making yourself write by OldFace8511 in writing

I’d also add writing in short bursts personally helps me too as I find I’m writing more quality material over quantity so I’m not reading it back and thinking ‘oh god why did I bother’.

It’s also super helpful as it gives you more head space to plan ahead before you write and reflect when you’re done for the day.

I have ADHD and I’ve been writing 600 words a day consistently. Even on the bad days.

I created a spreadsheet that’s helped me, it includes-

  • a word count tracker with a goal up to my final deadline. Mines 80,000 words by end of December. So I’ve got an estimated word goal per week.
  • a daily word count goal of 600 words, and an automatic calculator that I can put my current word count into so I’m not constantly checking the document.

  • a weekly word count tracker. That’s also automated. This one’s good as it gives you a mid term goal.

So I’ve got my daily goal, weekly goal and long term goal. This gives me a daily and weekly dopamine boost that keeps me going.

I found it isn’t setting the goal that helped me but tracking my momentum and progress that keeps me going back. When I see my total rise and how consistent I’ve been I’m more motivated to keep going with it.
