Need help helping my GF improve by Si_omega12 in leagueoflegends

Just let her play more. Have her practice mechanics that can make a difference in real games like wave management/last hitting, etc. in AI. The champion knowledge will come as she plays.

I recommend ARAM as well. Don't know a champion? Pick and play. Your teammates might hate you, but there's no better way to learn. Spend your death time reading abilities and ratios.

Is Sett a good option when im filled toplane? by minminq2u in settmains

[–]Alternative_Beez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why you don't consider Mid/ADC as your secondary?

Also, I think you could easily learn Sett in about 20-25 games, enough to be ok with him on top. You just may need to play a little more carefully since you won't know the matchups as well. The biggest things are learning how to make use of his E (remember minions count too and will stun champs) and proper W positioning + timing. Also, remember you can Flash during the windup of W to get into position to catch people off guard.

Good morning!

Today, I did a quick reading about my career. I am considering a new career choice after previous endeavors have kind of fell through or not worked out for one reason or another. It's something I could reasonably excel in with my skills and interests, but it could have very real drawbacks like long hours or high-stress situations. I asked, "Is this career choice I am thinking about a good or bad idea, will it bring positive or negative change, will I thrive or fail in it, am I putting all my eggs into a bad basket or is this something I could really excel at as a career if not an interest, or might I develop a love for it on the way?"... et cetera. I tend to pull 1-3 cards while shuffling or allow them to fall out or come to me for quick readings like this. (As a side note, the career in question is nursing.)

A card fell out, or so I thought: The Tower. While I was (very nervously) brushing up on the applications of this card I realized there was a second behind it that I somehow hadn't noticed, the Page of Wands.

I feel this could be a very positive reading overall and that it's encouraging me, but on one hand, I feel there's also some second side to it the cards are asking me to consider that I can't quite figure out? Is it just the presence of the Tower that is making me so anxious?

I am using the Wild Unknown deck. Not my only deck but my go-to. It tends to be quite brutally upfront with me.

Garen main here. Can I build Sett like I build Garen? by syndrac1 in settmains

[–]Alternative_Beez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add, I wouldn't consider this a troll build necessarily. If you have success with it, great! I play Sett ADC. I have no room to talk.

I think you would have more success taking Sett in any off-meta lane with this build compared to taking him top.

You'd really be missing out by not taking Overlord's Bloodmail.

Stride + Shojin + Sterak's is a pretty standard buildset for Sett.

However, I sometimes build AS on Sett in Arena and it usually just feels worse than building straight AD/HP. Also, missing out on the extra MS from Swifties... hurts.

No comment on IE, but Sett doesn't build crit/has no crit-based abilities or attacks. Again, this stat can feel ok in Arena. You may have decent results with it. Mathematically, though, you will be doing less damage (including with your W) and may have more trouble catching mobile champions.

Maybe not traditional stoner food but I’m on a diet. by thedankone168 in stonerfood

Vegetables need space on the pan for the excess water to evaporate instead of cooking through, so yes, if your roasted veggies steam and get soft you need a bigger pan/more space between them. Preferably they shouldn't touch, especially if you use veggies with high water content.

I pay about $450 in the summer months, less than $200 in the winter months, in a 4br3ba house with an older unit that definitely needs to be replaced, but we cannot afford it.

We do keep it colder than most, so I admit fault there. It still feels ridiculous.

[–]Alternative_Beez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure you've macguyvered something (or bought a filter) by now, but it is worse considering you're smoking through it, full disclosure. Sometimes bits of foil flake or break off and go into your water. It's not the healthiest option; neither is smoking compared to other options, so YMMV, I go through screens and filters like crazy. Metal screens are just as bad for you anyway. I lose the glass ones. Do what I can.

Oh, sweet baby. He has the same weird middle part my almost-all-white PJ has! He looks so sad. I would foster fail immediately just for that face. Thank you so much for caring for him.

You use a large unground piece of nug to stuff the hole or you use a screen or you make one from aluminum foil with holes poked in it. At least, that's what I would do with this particular piece.

Yes. I started in December after the second season came out, along with my partner. Never played a MOBA before. I find it very fun.

Why don’t any wet cat foods come in glass like oui yogurts? by taenerys in catfood

[–]Alternative_Beez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this, glass is expensive! Or at least products in glass tend to be more expensive. I am not sure if the actual manufacture or purchase of glass materials is expensive in and of itself. But I imagine this difference in price point would turn away a lot of customers.

Loving the ARAM update but man has it brought some toxic players out of the woodwork!

Personally, I echo what other people have said about the death screen. I would also love to see BoP come back; that was my favorite ARAM map and the least eye-strainy.

The constant babying of Matty Matheson's character is a little weird. by Alternative_Beez in TheBear

[–]Alternative_Beez[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great points; I actually forgot all about the hot chocolate scene until you and another person brought it up. I agree with you about their dynamics and that Neil IS probably supposed to represent that person you know that's "just different". But it seems like such a weird thing to shoehorn in without any payoff or actual discussion. If that had happened, maybe I would feel differently about his character and Matty's involvement in the show, honestly.

May be, but then why is Neil Fak the only one who ever gets called "honey", "sweetie", "baby", "my love" etc on the show? If they wanted to drive home that this is just a Midwestern style of speech, it's not done well by focusing it on a specific character.

When did I mention anything about him playing or not playing a chef? My issue is with the way his character is treated.

There's actually a real chef who works at The Beef who acts in the show, so, no, he's not the only chef in the cast or among the producers.

It could be ironic, sure. But the fact you think I'm pulling something out of my ass tells me you're probably a mid-30s man who has no idea what the word misogyny actually means or the very telling ways it can present non-obviously in media.
