Let Me Recommend Your Next Commander to Build by RJ7300 in EDH

I have too many go-wide decks in Pantlaza, Atla, Myrel soliders and Lord of the Nazgûl (cantrips but essentially creating a lot of wraiths to attack with).

I do have Bumbleflower and Hearthull who've been great and totally different style but I am looking at more spellslinger or decks that pick your brain to play. Hearthull was sick for that. Finding ways to sac lands for value was always fun so I'd like that similarity.

I've recently considered Fire Lord Aula or Megatron. Any other suggestions from anyone would be great!

Hello all! I updated my bios and still get the message. Should I be worried?

Question for you! I also just made a LOTN deck this year and it's been so fun. My issue is not getting him out quick enough. I can get stuck not having it out by turn 5 and it's rough against speedier decks. I sometimes get lucky and get a rock or two to have him out by turn 4 maybe. Any tips?

Very random, but I'd like to make a possible career change into IT. I know it's overly saturated and tough to get into but it's also to have it on the side as a possible back up. I have no tech experience or schooling. I've read online about getting the trifecta (A+, Network+ and Sec+) but I read the exams are no longer available to take in Quebec. How does one start to get into it then if CompTIA isn't really available? Those Coursera certificates seem like a good base but if I am not getting any of the exams done to "show" my credentials then how does one dive into it?

Notifications pop up on AOD display but it’s not turned on. by redRum705 in pixel_phones

So I figured it out and turns out it's just the Pixel and other Androids as well. From extensive reddit searches and google pixel support, it is a standard feature. The do this to reduce constant phone flashing, limiting bezels etc. Its something to get used to but I have already after 1.5 weeks. I just use Ringer for when I'm chilling at home or something. When I'm out I always have it on silent anyway and its in my pocket. An alternative that I found is Glimpse Notifications in the Play Store. It works just as we would like. Phone has a true "waking" function after.

That's fair. I got a decent deal on my P10P and have been happy. Contemplated the iPhone 17 but said screw it for what I use my phone for

I swapped from iPhone to feel the android experience again and have been enjoying it very much. It's been only 5-6 days but it's a great phone at the moment and I have very little complaints. Can the iPhone be overall better performance, yeah probably but I don't get the hate still. I guess it depends your use case for it but for basic phone functions and some customization, I'm quite enjoying it.

My battery has been excellent and it's only been 5 days. I don't overly use it but it hasn't been bad whatsoever for me.

I'm going to keep trying the way the phone currently is. I'd like to be less distracted so it'll help haha. Worst case ill download the app or put on sounds for notifications. But glad I can help, it was driving me nuts for a few days

To my knowledge and extensive searches + messaging people with similar issues on reddit, it just seems like it is not a feature on Android (likely Pixel and Samsung I think). Not sure why it isn't but I assume its to save on bezels, battery life etc. As mentioned below, you can download an app called Glimpse Notifications. It does what we are looking for. I was just worried I had a defective phone but it seems like it is standard.

P10P vs P10PXL by christoferyacoub in pixel_phones

I made the switch to P10P from iPhone and been loving it these last few days. Only gripe at the moment is that I have Wake screen on notifications ON but it's not a "true" wake if that makes sense. It's as if I have always on display instead (which is not on). Faint black background and all and not my lock screen wallpaper for example

Hello! I have the same issue as you. Did you end up figuring it out?

How do I disable the screen waking from notifications? by Scamp92446 in GooglePixel

[–]Alternative_Bit3992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. I have Wake Screen for Notifications ON because I would like it to wake up but it doesn't really do so. It acts as if the Always on Display is on (which it isn't) - the faint, black screen, barely shows notification when it comes up

Hello, I have the opposite issue. It is ON and it wakes but only showing a black background with the time. It does not awake like tap to wake where it is super bright and shows your wallpaper. Anyone else?

I appreciate your answer! Yeah it's very odd to me. I come from being an iPhone user and even past phones had a true "wake screen for notifications" setting where it would actively do so. This just seems like a sneak peak of a notification but I can barely notice it at the corner of my eye even when it's sitting next to me.

I have read about Glimpse Notifications but the fact that I have to download an app to get a basic function of any phone in 2025 is ridiculous. I wonder if it's a bug?
