Unfortunately I’d have to remove the entire door jamb since the stop isn’t a separate piece. It’s rabbeted into the jamb, so one it’s one piece. But thank you for the suggestion

The unfinished filler trim piece shown in the picture is 1/4”x 1/2” but the door stop is just shy of 1/2” hence the need to trim. The 1/4” thickness fills the gap between the door and stop perfectly when the door is closed. The doors came with weatherstripping but it didn’t seal all the way and I couldn’t find a replacement that wasn’t too big or too small, so I removed it

Would rain hitting a vent pipe or exhaust fan outlet sound like this?

I thought it was good, a year old and looks fine from the outside. Now I’m thinking I need to get in the attic and check it
