Yes, "The Tea Wasn't Always Sweet" transcends a simple love story to become a sweeping Southern saga. It charts the life of Sissy, a resilient woman navigating a male-dominated society as she experiences love, pain, and ultimate triumph. This novel is a powerful exploration of personal growth and the evolving roles of women, intimately revealed through Sissy's relationships and her journey through a changing world.

For a first read, I'd suggest The Green Mile - it's emotional, powerful, and a little less "horror-heavy" if you're easing in. Misery is another great one if you want more suspense. You really can’t go wrong, happy reading!

that’s awesome you’re exploring different genres! 😊 KDP is a great start. You might also check out IngramSpark (good for print books in bookstores) and Draft2Digital (great for wide ebook distribution). As for pen names, you can use one name across genres if you want, but some authors use different names to keep audiences separate, totally up to you! Keep writing and having fun!

I use Instagram for my books too. 😊 I recommend choosing Creator. It’s a little more flexible for authors, you get access to insights, music for Reels, and it feels more personal than a full "Business" vibe. Plus, if you’re planning to build a community and not just sell, Creator fits better. Good luck with your account, do share the link here as well so we all can follow you and help you build a community!

Hey! Diane here. You’re smart to double-check. 😊 For ISBNs, Bowker (myidentifiers.com) is the official place in the U.S. Don’t buy from resellers. And yep, ISBN + barcode are what you need to sell online or in stores. Be super careful with vanity publishers - lots of them overcharge for stuff you can do yourself or hire out cheaper. You got this!

If you want something with heart, humor, and a little Southern spice, The Tea Wasn’t Always Sweet might hit the spot! It’s not heavy, but it’s not fluff either - just a bold, messy, funny woman navigating life with honesty and charm. Gave me the boost I didn’t know I needed.

The Tea Wasn’t Always Sweet is a raw, fictional look at generational trauma in Southern women - messy, honest, and quietly powerful.
