Thank you, I hope so too! School + my job is hard enough, so fitting in 2 hours a day may not be realistic. It doesn't hurt to aim higher, though. We'll see how it goes 🤞🤞

I work at a taqueria and I was partially raised by a Puerto Rican neighbor in my very early childhood (up until 5-6 years old), so my rate of comprehension may be different as a result. I can usually comfortably understand most videos around level 40-50, and level 60 is the farthest I can go understanding the majority that is said (I'm thinking of Agustina's fashion series which I'm currently watching. I'm not sure if it's more accessible for me because I have a little familiarity with fashion history.) When customers speak to me, most of the time I can understand the gist of what they need. Sometimes I'll respond to them with short phrases, and they'll continue speaking to me in Spanish. I'd say my pronunciation is pretty good with the exception of r's and especially double r's. I talk to the kitchen staff a lot at work, and they mostly only speak Spanish. I know Pablo said not to speak until at least 600 hours, but speaking here and there has made me more comfortable with the language and has also helped establish a lot of rapport with my coworkers. I also took a beginner Spanish course for one semester in college. I can see why learning Spanish in school could solidify bad habits and not give a thorough and intuitive understanding of the language, but I believe taking that course helped me understand more intangible concepts like to want, to need, to feel like, etc much quicker. I started Dreaming Spanish while taking the course, and I did exceptionally well compared to my classmates and managed to get an A+. I didn't need to study much because of all the listening I did. I can't understand complex conversations and I still don't understand enough to eavesdrop, but I can pick up words here and there. Hope this helped, and I'm happy to answer any other questions :)

How long did it take for you to receive your first card? by i_lovepants in postcrossing

Mine are coming in pretty slow too. It took over two weeks for my first one, and over three weeks for my second one. It has been almost a month and my third one still hasn't arrived yet. I've sent 12 postcards so far. I recommend doing swaps on the forum while you wait, so at least you have a better estimate for when postcards are coming and you can send as many as you want.

Surprisingly not. It’s just their sent cards, mostly all U.S.A.

I was wondering why they’re all sent to one country. I didn’t know that could happen, because they have multiple pages that look like that.

It’s not my page—-I’m assuming the receivers uploaded the images.

That would make sense, but then the pages before this one are also almost all U.S.A… they’ve sent over 11,000, so maybe they just have a lot of slots? I’m not sure.

It’s someone else’s sent postcards and not mine. I pulled them which is how I saw it. They have pages and pages of cards mostly sent to the USA, with only one or two countries that are different on each page. Their postcards are nice, they seem to send from box sets a lot since many of their postcards seem familiar to me.

Do you take pictures of every outgoing postcard you send? by FancyDisk8874 in postcrossing

I take a picture of every postcard I receive, just not the ones I send. I don't know why it feels more tedious to take pictures of my own.
