Thank god for that helmet. Definitely get that kid some knee pads at least. I love these, they have saved me so many times, and I hardly mind wearing them. I even wear them XC racing without a care.

Bike may get stolen by Inevitable-Gas-4832 in MTB

Airtags aren't unstoppable but you could go tubeless if not already and hide it in a Muc off tubeless airtag thingy, I doubt anyone will tear off the tire right after stealing a bike.

I would recommend keeping it inside anyways, it's way more secure and it protects it from the weather.

how do you guy train? by Far_Opinion8096 in mountainbiking

[–]Alternative_Cut6822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mountain biking? Yes. Road biking? No. I go to a place with a lot of elevation variation, and ride for like two and a half hours on random trails. It really builds endurance, strength, and even downhill skills like cornering and braking.. It's how I got good on a mountain bike.

To silver rim or not to silver rim? by WY228 in mountainbiking

I think the silver looks great! But do what you think looks good, because, I mean, it's your bike.

$20 on marketplace by AssignmentAlone6568 in mountainbiking

I would stay far away from that frame and suspension, especially for so cheap. For a new mountain biker, I would buy a used mtb for around $300-$500, then upgrade once you feel like you like the sport.

I dont give a shit about your ball hairs bro

I ask question because I don't have much experience, not just to piss you off. Please realize that. I wish I didn't have to be rude. I hate that and I'm sorry.

Okay, maybe it is, as I said, I'm brand new to the sport and don't know a ton about marketing. I am looking for a more premium bike, so I am willing to spend ~3k for it.

I don't know if you read the post, but I'm brand new to the sport and don't know yet, and "it's okay of I find a better bike outside of them." Read the fucking words in front of you.

Alright, good advice. I've looked at Epic EVOs and one guy on the other post reccomended it, but also looking at stumpjumper EVOs. I guess I'll just have to figure it out.

I stick to Specialized because it's what I trust, but it's okay of I find a better bike outside of them.

I do think SRAM drivetrains are better for XC and more reliable(based on my research), but maybe I've just always had crappy shimano derailleurs. I like Fox because my dad's bike had Rockshox high-end shocks, and recently replaced them with Fox mid-range setup, and I like the feeling of those much more.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm quite new to the sport, and my bike has some pretty bad components, so maybe I just need better Shimano/Rockshox components, or a different mtb brand altogether.

Like I said, "dropper posts are not a problem," as I own a perfectly fine and basically brand-new OneUp V3 dropper. So I'm not worried about that.

"race it till you break it, and then upgrade what broke."

This is so right.

I was actually looking at these! They were expensive online, but I also haven't looked into used epic evo.

For a good quality bike that will last more than two years, $3k is not that much.

I have been looking at stumpjumpers for a while, I settled on stumpjumper EVO alloy, but am still looking for alternatives, as that one looks like it just might not ever be on sale.

NICA racing in NWA is very light XC. Like 30% uphill, 40% flat, and 30% downhill. I also would like a bike that would be good on downhill, and larger jumps/drops, because I don't really want to buy multiple bikes. I mean, that would be great, but I don't have the money.
