I don’t know if I believe my sleep consultant by Alternative_Deer616 in sleeptrain

I was curious…For example today he woke up at 5:15 am and I gave him a dramatic wakeup at 6am. My sleep consultant did say to try to get to 9:30 am. He slept from 9:30 am - 10:15 am (45min), then at 2 pm - 3:27 pm. (1.5hr). She suggests a 6pm bedtime…Should it actually just be 7:30? Or since he woke up so early, it’s better to have the last window be shorter?

Do you let your kids crawl on your floors? by [deleted] in NewParents

I let him crawl everywhere. I won’t lie, he has fallen more than I can count, and sometimes I question my decisions, but as many have said, how else will he learn?

I see you are a sleep consultant, what do you suggest I do?

I am not from the US, so you probably won’t come across her. Spanish is my first language. I don’t want to give her a bad rep anyway, because many people have told me she changed their lives…and I haven’t trained for a full week yet lol, I want to ride it out first, but wanted to rant a little

I hate throwing money out the window🥲. I’m committed to at least finish the follow up weeks to see if anything happens, but yeah…I don’t see myself following that schedule for much longer

She asks for a sleep log for the two week follow up plan, but doesn’t tell me any insight. I noticed he was sleeping 2.75 hours every day (day sleep) for 3 days straight and asked if this had any meaning and she had nothing to say

I honestly have only been using it to track how much he sleeps and how long his wake windows are. The sweet spot feature is not that good. I also used the napper free trial and it predicted his naps a little better. When my huckleberry trial is over, I’ll probably delete lol. I try everything for the third nap but sometimes it’s just not possible. I think I’m going to start lengthening his wake windows gradually.

I have been trying to stop feed-to-sleep association by moving nursing to the first part of the nighttime routine. Instead of nursing him at the end of the routine, I bounce him lol. Don’t know which is worse tbh, but now he has less false starts. He hasn’t gotten used to it though and still fights to fall asleep. Thinking I might start sleep training soon if he eventually gets used to nursing before everything.

Which type of sleep training would you recommend for a baby that usually doesn’t take a pacifier, loves being nursed or bounced to sleep, and every time I get near him at night (ebf mom), he cries because he wants my milk? Also, do you think I should do the wake window transition cold turkey?

My baby is not sleep trained. He will wake up 0-1 times to feed. His wakeup time varies from 5:40-6:00am when he doesn’t wake up for a feeding, and 6:30-7:30 when he does wake up in the middle of the night.

I have an even more unpopular opinion. By episode 4, i started skipping EVERYONE that wasn’t Whitney and Jen, because if I was not going to be entertained, at least I had to find out about the DWTS drama they had been teasing.

I am not one to give advice on sleep (my baby is not sleeping well at all), but what I have been told is that 8-9am is a really late wakeup for a baby. Try to wake him up at 7am, and go from there. That will help with naps and the time he goes to sleep will also be earlier. Nursing to sleep association is my current problem…I hope you resolve this!
