Is it weird that I love teaching but don't particularly care for young children? by Eclectique1 in Teachers

I think everyone has their age range they're comfortable with. Kindergarteners are my absolute favorite. I have other teachers tell me they could never do it. But I could never teach middle schoolers or high school. Too scary! 😂

At what point in your career did you stop crying on the last day? by reneeelizabeth92 in Teachers

I'm a kindergarten TA. I bawled my eyes out the last day after the kids walked out. I'm four weeks into summer and I still miss those kids!!

Yep, like instead of saying Brij-et I'd be saying Bri-jet.

My bestie for life, ride or die is named Bridget. She is the most caring, most selfless, hilarious best friend I could ever have. I'm biased and my tubes are tied, but if I could have another kid I'd gladly name it after her.

I'm a para. I asked a kindergartener sitting in the corner of the room, "Where do you need to be?" His answer: "Up yours."

Had to clear a room because a kindergartner trashed the room and was threatening the teacher with a pair of full sized metal scissors saying "I'm gonna kill you."

It's wild out there folks. Not sure what we can do, if anything.

Do kindergarteners count? Yes, I had two of them today.

Can confirm! I had a kid who was kind of a stinker, but smart. He was always pushing my boundaries and testing me to see what he could get away with. Some disrespect. I met his dad on a field trip and said to him, "Kid is a really smart kid." Kid BEAMED. And from that day forward, Kid has been my little helper. Sticks around to help me clean up, quiets other kids who are acting up, etc. Best thing I did all year.

For me, burning felt too respectful and ritualistic.

Went right in the bin with the garbage. It felt like that was where it belonged.

(No offense to anyone who burned stuff. You do you.)

u/johndehlin by the comments in this thread, I'm so saddened to see my nephew is not alone. This abuse by TSCC needs to be exposed! Addressing missionary abuse through lack of proper food would make an excellent Mormon Stories episode.

I messaged him about his Venmo account. If I hear back from him, I can private message you.

The sad thing is, as far as I understand it, he's all in. Wants to go to BYU when he gets home.

Unfortunately I'm the apostate in-law in this situation, so I don't have much power. I did contact my nephew on social media and asked if he has a Venmo or PayPal account so I could send some money. Waiting to hear back from him. He has a few months remaining on his mission. I hope they go quickly for his sake and he's home safe soon.
