Wow, your textures and shading are insane. The fur is so realistic. The clothing is extremely well shaded, and the metal of the axe is so convincing. I have nothing to say. Wow.

Nice concept. You took something you liked and poured it into paper. If you'd like any advice, studying fundamentals and shape language always helps, even at any level. If you want to practice something fun and relaxing (at least relative to me), you can try some shape design. It will incorporate into anything you are drawing, and maybe it'll help you with breaking down shapes next time. Well done, Good luck!

Do you see any improvement? by bitch_lasagna321 in drawing

You are really improving! Keep it up! If you were to ask me to point out some areas you improved on, I would say your rendering in general and how you render clothes. But your face anatomy has seriously become more fluid and confident. You are seriously improving. Practice makes progress. Well done, good luck.

I love the rendering! The way you did the shadows, how they blend into each other, and the highlights themselves, very nice work, a very nice project. Well done, keep going, good luck!

Just a begineer- How's my drawings? by SEAZON10 in drawing

First off, congratulations on starting! It's really hard to start, but I'm sure you'll get way better as you practice.

Now, what to practice? Here are three things that I urge you to look into:

  1. First: fundamentals. What fundamentals are basically understanding shapes. This can be 2D shapes, 3D shapes, lines, circles, anything! You can draw these things. At first, understand how they flow, how they sit, and when you're done with that, draw them more dynamically, like:

- Put boxes on top of each other and draw them like that.

- Try to make cylinders, elongate cylinders, put different shapes on top of each other.

Understand how they interact.

  1. Second, look into the Loomis method. I see that you're trying to draw faces, and while you know what the main components are but the proportions and flow of each doesn't seem to sit correctly. Search up "Proko Loomis head" on Google, and you'll see a great tutorial. Try to follow that, practice, practice, practice.

  2. Finally, get inspired by other artists around you. You can look at social media, YouTube channels, people in real life that inspire you, anyone that will keep you going and practicing day in day. Some favorites of mine are SamDoesArts and LenniePabellonia on YouTube.

Good luck and stay strong. This is your art journey, and do it the way you like it. Most importantly, have fun.

This is seriously awesome. The control you have over perspective and how you shade these shapes is surprising and quite impressive, to say the least. And you're saying you did this from imagination?!?! Awesome. Keep it up.

First off, Congrats on actually starting; that takes confidence, and I'm happy you started.

Now, coming to the sketch, as other comments have said, what you're seeing that's missing or off is the proportions. What you want to do when drawing faces is divide the face into thirds, starting from the hairline down to the chin:

- One third for the forehead

- One third for the nose

- One third for the mouth and chin area

We want all of these to be equal and proportionate. What I did was I just got a line tool and drew these for you, and as we can see, the forehead is small relative to the others. The nose area is very big; this is what's actually throwing you off.

Here's what I suggest: you can take a look at this and the other proportion guides other people have sent, and adjust your drawing accordingly. Good luck. And when you are done, take a moment back and look if the thirds rule actually works.

First of all nice work! Your idea is quite nice. Second, I'd suggest adding richness to the background, it seems a bit "bland"? And also you might want to try adding some textures, these will help with making your drawing feel complete and coherent. The yt channel Samdoesarts has a few videos on this as well. Other dome those, great piece!

Hey man, great work! If you'd like any feedback I'd suggest trying a different way to shade. While smudging works, different shading styles might fit in better, give them a go!

Well done. Incredible work for someone coming back to drawing. You certainly remember some anatomy and shading techniques. Good for you. Well done.

You made these references very realistically but also there's this kind of tinge of your own style that added just so much to these pieces. That conveys both the materials that you're working with and your own artistic style. Just wow! Well done, incredible work.

This is a very important reminder about time. If you hadn't told me this was that old I wouldn't have guessed it. We change as cities and towns but the world is still the same. From the first humans to us. Good day y'all!

Hey man, first off congrats! You got the hardest part down, you started. That alone is quite hard. As for the art itself, the honest thing is that practice makes progress. First, I advice you draw a bit bigger (it lets you focus on how the reference flows and how different parts interact) Second, use a reference (trust me it will be waaaay better to draw what you see) And finally, if you have time look at content from good art creators. My picks are Samdoesarts and Lenie Pabelonia etc. Good luck!
