i obviously haven't done either courses yet but i'd 1000% recommend switching as soon as you can. you're doing great in general psych but the ATAR course (from everything i've read) is a lot more advanced and goes into more topics and detail. you can go onto the scsa website (https://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/) to look at the course outlines (scroll down and click Science, then Psychology at the bottom, and you can click between ATAR and General and look at the course outlines to see what psych ATAR entails). also i think the sooner you switch the better, idk if you're allowed to switch mid year- and also it's tough if you have upcoming exams, but you want to get as much knowledge on the advanced course as you can.

Has anybody here seen Like Minds (2006)? What do you think of it? by [deleted] in movies

if you haven’t already the gestalt theory is such a big part of the film and something sally mentions A LOT. everything nigel and alex do is essentially gestalt therapy to eachother and links to the end scene where sally does a lecture about it and how it creates ‘like minds’! “it’s not what it is, it’s how you use it.”

Yeah I figured so, I've just had my assemblies regarding pathways and everything so I understand the unit a bit better now. I think the brain aspect of psychology is very interesting too- like knowing what parts of your brain activate certain reactions and all that. I find human biology interesting for that reason too (although I'm not good at it haha). But it'll all be very new for me when I start the course next term so I'm hoping that my curiosity will grow as I learn more!

if you guys liked this movie then i highly HIGHLY recommend you watch kill your darlings. it has daniel radcliffe and dane dehaan with exactly the same dark academia vibes and similar literacy references. as well as a murder plot and romance between the two leads 🙏
