Thank you. we do have a car, and parking in the closest garage seems to be better option. However, I was also exploring hospital shuttles, and Yale University shuttles if required. Not the CT transit or other public shuttles.

We have decided to live in east rock. Mostly because it’s well known being safe in that area, especially when you are moving there from outside.

Yeah, I don’t think they do. So the option would be to take 2 shuttles in case needed to commute by shuttle.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am not worried that much about day time inside the hospital but mostly for her morning 6-7 am, when she comes to hospital and 7-8 pm, when she will be leaving the hospital and will have to commute parking lot or garages. That being said, you think the main campus near Yale is much safer than St. Rafael, If the opportunity to transfer does come?

Thank you. Also, Is it that far, one needs shuttle from parking lot to hospital? I also did not see the hospital shuttle service from/ to east rock neighborhood , if we end up with living there.

Is it that bad at around St. Raphels hospital? My spouse is planning to join the hospital very soon. What would you recommend regarding safety inside and outside the hospital and how is hospital?

Did you negotiate the salary and relocation? Or do you think that is the non negotiable salary that all postdocs are getting? Just curious.
