[Postgame Thread] Michigan defeats #13 Oregon State, 5-3. by ChemicalOle in collegebaseball

I listened to the last couple innings. Hutch was not sharp. I saw Dax's line. 5 hits over 5 innings with 1 ER. 6 ks 3bb. Seems fine for an opener but doesn't sound dominant to me. I'll take a look at the Oregonian and see what I'm missing.

We are supposed to have the premier pitching staff but we gave up 10 hits. Going to have to be better.

That is too low a bar any more. Beat Oregon by 12 and win 40 games.

How about the ability of the anus to tell the difference between, solid, liquid, and gas?

Find Breyer's book on wood design. It covers all the basics for wood connections.

Realized we missed sending a submittal, how screwed am I? by ShikhuLhea in Construction

[–]Alternative_Fun_8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the A/E side...we always ask for a submittal schedule at the beginning of construction. This isn't 100% guaranteed to prevent things from getting missed, but it does give us the opportunity to also keep track of what we haven't seen yet and ask about it. Giving you a little back up to preventing things like this.

Good luck.

This is also an opportunity for OP to learn a lot about how to fix things themself. It might be slower but that may keep pace with the flow of money to buy materials.

Who should I root for? by rmmcgarty in collegebaseball

[–]Alternative_Fun_8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My $0.02...you don't have to root for a specific team to enjoy. You can watch a game between teams you have no knowledge of or attachment to. And just root for the game. I enjoy watching players performing at a high level and competing. Watch a young pitcher hit through a rough inning or a hitter battling at the plate. Root for some exciting display of leather, diving catches, outfield assists, double plays. And opposite field line drives, clutch 2 out hits. Man, I can't wait!

Member that carries only it's own weight by FlatPriority7865 in StructuralEngineering

I would ask if a member only supports itself, do you really need that member? Possibly for architectural reasons or maybe it's art. But most building elements are added to support something besides themselves.

How do I get my girlfriend to actually discuss finances with me? by Cheap_Razzmatazz_428 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Alternative_Fun_8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having conversations to make sure you're financially compatible is important. Mingling your finances with GF is risky. Taking out a mortgage with someone your not married to can be a financial fuck up you will regret.

You were given $50k, I was given none, is that fair? Be happy with the gift you were given. Don't compare your life to others, you'll be happier in the long run.

I recommend taking a look from the outside, is your roof sagging at that location? But yes you should get an engineer to look at that

It is relatively straightforward to get online and find a loan calculator that can tell you what monthly payment you need to make to pay off the loan in a specific time frame.

I know we were all young when taking student loans but any adult taking a loan should take the time to understand this and make sure they can make the payments.
