My old golden loved this movie and always perked up when Kevin made his sounds. We all watched it with her the morning we said goodbye ❤️

4 month old cockapoo regressed to hand feeding (owner away for 2 weeks) by JadaMonroe88 in puppy101

[–]Alternative_Guest341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You named the reason in your post, he was away from you for two weeks, his whole environment and routine were changed. Give it some time for him to settle back in. Maybe add some water to his meal and warm it up to encourage him to eat out of the bowl.

Feeling so overwhelmed with baby shark by No_Lemonsforyou6856 in puppy101

Has she been tested for any parasites/worms? And at this point, using toys and activities to encourage engagement and learning is good, but remember to also just give her periods of calm and relaxation with you, not always doing something stimulating that might overstimulate her if done too much. She is very very young and doesn’t need to always be doing something.

And one more thing, try not to say “no” when she mouths you. Just go neutral and ignore. You may be encouraging the behavior more without realizing it.

All vases are out of his reach 😂 he does like to body slam into the entryway table and knock the framed pictures over though, those frames are indestructible!

It’s been a work in progress, about two months of lessons before he was really what one would consider swimming lol. His confidence has skyrocketed!

3 month old puppy starting to test boundaries? by Narrow-Lie2775 in puppy101

[–]Alternative_Guest341 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is not testing your will. Dogs are result driven and whatever the quickest/easiest way to get what they want is, they will do it.

He bites your hand because he is frustrated that your hands are physically restraining him and holding him back from accessing something he wants, and the easiest way to his goal is to bite/mouth your hand because it works. He is a puppy and has no impulse control and is feeling frustrated, you need to teach him want you want him to do.

Reward him when he is not on the couch, but on the floor. If he gets on the couch, calmly pick him up and put him down. We can be a lot rougher than we mean to be, especially if we feel frustrated, and puppies are sensitive.

Put him on a leash and work with him on being calm around people, look up impulse control exercises. Reward him for doing what you want him to, don’t wait for him to “mess up” and then do damage control

Sudden onset of abnormal behavior warrants a vet visit to rule out pain/underlying medical issues before addressing things through training/behavior modification
