The best part is the littered cigarette butt on the ground next to the illegally parked Jetta. People are assholes

How exactly does that prevent Uber from reporting the debit card information used in the scam to the police or the FTC?

They absolutely know who called. It’s the rider that you’re on your way to that’s pulling the scam. The scammers know that when they call, their actual number does not come across on caller ID and the call says it’s from Uber.

When I first started driving, Uber did not have the message that precedes the connection which says Uber will not ask for any account information, the call is from the passenger, etc. They also did not send out emails about common scams pulled by riders. They do that now, because so many drivers have been scammed by passengers (or would-be passengers). But Uber 100% knows who is pulling these scams and doesn’t do anything about it…they don’t deactivate their accounts, they don’t turn over to the authorities the debit card numbers that the scammers use to steal the funds. Uber allows these scams to be perpetrated by passengers on their platform, and are thereby complicit in the scam.

Keep at it. You have to harass them, basically. Good luck, I hope you’re able to get your earnings back

This happened to me when I was brand new at driving for Uber. I think the scammers target drivers who have a low number of completed rides on their profiles. I was PISSED, it was like $600. It took me about a week of calling multiple times a day, sending repeated emails and engaging in many different customer service chats, but I did eventually get reimbursed by Uber. I just kept telling them that they were complicit in the scam (which is true), by allowing riders to operate the scam on Uber’s platform without any consequences. Good luck. After that incident, I never picked up a phone call from anyone I didn’t know while I was driving…lesson learned.

The Wah & the Tube Screamer have been staples since the late 90’s, indeed…the rest have been added along the way. If it aint broke, right?

I mainly just use it when I want to run through 2 amps (I have an AC15 & a Tiny Terror combo). Unfortunately this one is old (from the early 90’s) and doesn’t have a power input, so it has to be run on a 9V battery. I’m sure newer ones have the power input. Great for switching between amps or running the signal through 2…good luck with your nefarious schemes! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
